I read another topic in here just now about a Nintendo 64 controller and it reminded me of another Nintendo 64 thingy that may even be kinda rare.
I remember reading about this years ago in GamePro I believe. Nintendo was giving out a Mario Party leather glove to people that sent them in all kinds of proof that you owned the game.
The reason was because so many people were complaining about getting bumps on their hands from moving the analog in a circular motion. And anyone that was hooked on Mario Party knows how bad this sucked and how hard it was to play when your hands are sore from playing everyday.
My question is if anyone remembers this and can give me any more information.
What would be even better is if you have one to sell. :D

I have a set of N64 white gloves. However they seem to be an unusual pass to a press conference. I don't think this is what you are talking about.

Hah, I wish I knew about this back then, because I always got a blistered hand from playing. One time, in some gaming mag there was a guys record for how far he got that shy-guy to fly in the air, and if anyone could beat it they were to send in a picture. Long story short, I beat it, but never sent in a picture. That was pretty nifty. Although, if I go and picked it up right now, I'd probably do a whole lot better then I ever could before.

Perhaps this (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=71515) is the topic that reminded you? I also remembered the gloves.
Nintendo games didn't have registration numbers back then, so the deal was to send in the UPC. I was going to do it myself, but I heard from a friend that the gloves had no evidence whatsoever of being given by Nintendo. No logo. No Mario face. They were just plain, white, off-the-shelf gloves. So, I decided not to cut up my box.
I hope that answers some questions.

Uh, from what I remember the Mario Party glove wasn't some fun giveaway or promo item but Nintendo dodging a lawsuit bullet. Parents were complaining to Nintendo that their kid's palms were getting bruised and blistered from rolling the N64 analog stick in a circular motion against them. The solution was to offer a fingerless palm protector to those who owned the game.
It wasn't a set of gloves, it was A GLOVE for the right hand that would prevent contact between the analog stick and palm skin yet was fingerless so it wouldn't impede gameplay. I'm farily sure that on the face of the glove was a picture of mario's face in a circle, the usual 3/4 view of Mario smiling. For some reason I also think that Wal-Mart was the main advocate and distributor of the gloves through Nintendo. (ie. bring in your receipt and get a glove)
However aside from the usual flyers that mass retail stores are given that do nothing but collect dust behind the counter and a couple quick bites on national news stations this whole campaign never really goot that much attention at all.
If anyone has one of these "gloves" PLEASE post a picture.

I heard Nintendo was actually promoting masturbation with this right hand peripheral, as an attempt to lure people into abstinence. Far too many brainless Xbox owners around and no need for even more. *runs and hides*
