hello
need a little help on a transaction here on the board
..i send out a $XXX mo order in august..and the seller got it ...but he said he mail out the package early sept(5-6)..NO.. proof/tracking was provided
and he's in the us
i'll completed 10+ other transaction with people in the us , austia and in japan already during this delay O_O
...do you think it's fair to ask for a refund
anyhelp will be greatly appreciated
It's because of situations like this that I stay away from money order purchases. If both parties are in different countries then most of the time tracking isn't available for a money order, so it's pretty easy for someone to get jipped in the whole process.
The problem with your situation, like many involving m.o's, is that he could say he already sent the item out, which may indeed be true or not. The fact is, you have no way in knowing. That's why Paypal can be handy, even though that has it's share of problems associated with it as well. :/
Back to your problem though. Sure you can ask for a refund, if he hasn't already sent the item out. If he has, then it's hard to say what to do in that situation. Some sellers take no resposibility for packages once it leaves their hands. How long does it usually take a package that size to arrive to you? Maybe it got stuck at your customs office.

like i said..i got a tracking for the money order....and he said he got it......also the seller should provide some sort of tracking /proof for the item they are sending especially when the item are $$$...........the mongest i've waited for a package from the us was 15-17day's :hmm:
Oh sorry I misread your post. I thought you said there WASN'T any tracking for the m.o. :embarrassed:
If this isn't a really big package (which may take longer to arrive), and if it was shipped september 5-6 then it should have definitely arrived by now. Personally if I were you I would wait another week tops, and if the package doesn't arrive by then I would try to get a refund, assuming the money order has been confirmed to be cashed.
Have you contacted the seller about this?

yeah i cantacted the seller and he was really friendly and replied that's how i know that he send it around sept6 .....as of yesterday it's been a month..so... it's taking way to long...i've completed 10+ transaction internationally during this time... and recived all my item's
already :hmm:

This should be decided before the transaction takes place. Nothing should be assumed. That doesn't make it right to not send your item, but if a tracking number is important to you in the future, I'd be sure to mention that before buying something.

Exactly. Shipping with delivery confirmation costs extra and usually its the buyer that covers that extra fee just as they would pay for shipping. If you didn't pay for delivery confirmation then you probably didn't get it. In the future its worth asking your sellers up front if they would ship with delivery confirmation (or even insurance) for your protection. Delivery confirmation without insurance is only like an extra $.50

Agreed. Tracking is up to the buyer to ask about, or ask to understand what will happen if the package doesn't arrive first.
Now, if you're talking about this package coming from a different country, if he sent it ground and not air, this isn't abnormal. I recently traded a bunch of stuff with a member on here. He was in Canada, I was in the US. We both sent as slow as we could. It took 6 weeks for me to get it. I had completely forgot it was coming, actually. It was quite the nice surprise.
If it's country to country, it very well might take longer. The difference between surface and airmail is a lot. We actually took that option off the GOAT Store because people would demand their money back after two weeks when they picked surface, and it was always at least 4 before something arrived. Now we only ship Airmal.

I have noticed that in the last few months, that some sellers are taking their time shipping stuff out. When I sell something, it gets shipped on the next business day.

Problem is of course that unless it's defined in the terms of the auction, they don't have to provide a tracking number. If you bought the item off ebay then all you can do is leave negative feedback, but I would be sure to communicate your frustration to the seller and they will do what they can to avoid having this feedback left.
I buy stuff from the states all the time and I loathe Canada Customs - they're evil bastards. Best of luck!

OH JUST ANOTHER NOTE THE PACKAGE WAS DATE SEPT28...I WAS TOLD BY THE SELLER SEPT 8 :roll:
I ACTUALLY GOT THE SYSYETM ON OCT 7..but i did'nt have any atachment with it ..i just got a power supply few day ago and i tested the stuff....well...not sure if the seller is 100% clueless about the system but ....when i open the lid on the cd drive...THE LASER GOT JAMMED INTO THE EDGE AND IT BENDED..AS IF IT GOT FORCE INTO THE CORNER WITH A SCREW DRIVER/PEN/PENCIL... NEVER THE LESS THE SYSTEM NEVER EVEN POWER UP...SO..( the power supply was tested and it works)
also i brough a another system ..but i can track down a power supply for it...iam ganna try to get on and try it just for the hell of it

Did he say the system was working when you bought it?
I would talk to him about it and tell him whats going on. If it doesn't work you should let him know that you arn't satisfied with that.

Did he say the system was working when you bought it?
I would talk to him about it and tell him whats going on. If it doesn't work you should let him know that you arn't satisfied with that.
i took your advice..and contacted the seller...he gonna do apartial refund (70%)
i don't wanna said what type of system it is( it's not common thus the $XXX)..some of you might figure it out and harrass the seller :P

Well let's hope that he really does send the 70% of the money. Maybe you could get the system fixed somewhere or try to find out what is wrong with it.
