I don't put drinks or food near my shelf (except water bottles) so I don't need too. I'm sure other people do though.

I keep some of my more valuable games in plastic bags. If it's a cart and I bought it new I try to keep it in the bag that came with the game.

Why not just buy a extra plastic casing for it.

I plan on doing this soon. I want my games to last as long as possable! Long term exposure to humidity can ruin labels and such, oxidation could be an isue too if you live on the coast ;)

99% of my cart-only games are sealed in vacuum wrap... (no dust, no air, no water, no liquids, and as the wrap is UV protective, no yellowing :D)
The remaining 1% I actively play, so are about to undergo a wrap or have jsut been unwrapped, so no; you're not alone :)

A buddy of mine keeps his rare games in sealed bags. I don't, but then again I tend to sell off all my rare games and only keep the games that I really like. I am about to ebay a few games soon, like Congo Bongo for INTV- I just sold the box and book (and a bunch of other goodies coleco xonox dbl enders)to a really BIG collector friend( he is videogames in the R.o.D just under my albums on pg 3) and I will be selling off some other good stuff too. Probably a week or so.
My room is heavily guarded most of the time- no one enters without me, and no it is not a cafeteria. It is only a game room, I will have a drink with me in there while playing games, but that's just me. Not usually guests. I have a living room that I will move a system out to, to entertain guests, then at worst a controller might need replacing.

I keep my loose games in plastic storage bins and my boxed games in cardboard boxes. I have many games that have not been categorized, scattered around. Most of my stuff is in my storage unit. There's no worry about getting any water around them there. I only keep my PS2 and other current handheld systems with their pertaining games at home. ie. PSP, Gameboy SP. With any of the new games they are kept in their original boxes or cases.

Nope. If it's an R9 or an R10, it will go on the shelf along with all my other games, with no protection. I collect games, and I want to keep them protected, but sitting on a shelf along with my other games isn't going to get them damaged. Dust doesn't hurt that bad.

I got a package from somebody one time and every game was in a ziplock bag. They were all dirt common too, so it was kind of weird.
I've actually been meaning to stick my 9's in individual bags, but never got around to it. I know it only takes 2 seconds, but I still haven't done it.

I don't do anything too drastic, basically just keep them away from food, drink, inside on protected shelves, etc. Of course, I don't have any really rare titles though...

My mate does this with those plastic A4 wallets you get to put documents in. It looks a complete mess on his shelves, but at least he knows they are safe.
My games are sealed, so i'm not too worried about anything except accidental damage (Ie, cracked cases) ~ But I keep my games in storage crates which only get moved to insert new sealed games. I'd have to be one unlucky mofo to drop the entire crate!

i keep my games in carbonite with an exterior shell of concrete and 30 inch lead shielding to defend against EMP in case of nuclear war.

Nope my Saga and Neo games sit out in the open just waiting to be destroyed.
But I put a plastic bag around my couch to keep it fresh and to keep food from staining it. -_-

Most of my games are put away except for whatever I'm playing at the moment.
Okay, some may be covered in cat hair but that's all...

I keep my rare games on my shelf with all my other games... not in plastic bags.

I keep most of my systems and games in plastic boxes or bags. I don't want them to end up looking like some of the 20 year old 2600 I have found. Quarter inch cake of dust, dirt and bug body parts.
