View Full Version : Weekend Finds 10/8 - 10/9

It's the weekend for me already, so I'll start this up:
Picked up new and sealed for JP Dreamcast:
Power Stone 2
Gigawing
For about $12 for the two.
Shop had some older stuff that they had no idea what to do with. They had a Jaguar (no power supply) for $25, a PC Boy (HK PC Engine knockoff) extremely close to new for $8. Stuck with the two DC games, tho.
At another store, they were quite happy to give me a NeoGeo Pocket and some Japanese soccer game for $5. Makes me happy.

the Donkey Konga set was $49 AUD (50% off from 99) from Toys'R'Us
the halo 2 guide underneath was $9.95 AUD from EB.. a bit of an impulse buy but the guides here are usually around 30 bucks.
I've been bongoing all afternoon, good times 8-)

Well, the cold winds are blowing in Wisconsin, and the rummage season is almost over...almost. :D The classifieds search on the Journal/Sentinel webpage only returned one hit for video games...Saturday at 9 am, so I decided to check it out after I dropped off my daughters at band practice.
Got there 10 minutes early and there was only some furniture and 3 cardboard boxes out. Went right to the boxes, and they were full of DVDs...asked how much and the guy said $2 each. I snagged the Bourne Identity Collector's Edition, and was thinking of getting some just to trade in when I asked, "Did you have any video games?" He says "Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me!" and brings out of the house a box filled with PSX and Saturn games all in mint condition!
Before I can ask how much, he says "A buck apiece" and I try to contain myself as I see some of the titles in the box. It looks like the best great games to crap games ratio I've ever seen in a rummage lot, and I count out 48 games. Haggler that I am, I offer him $40 for the whole box, he comes back with $45 and I say SOLD!
Here's the PSX goodness:
http://img321.imageshack.us/img321/383/psx3wg.jpg
And the even gooder Saturn goodness:
http://img321.imageshack.us/img321/9358/sat0oh.jpg
Everything looks like it was played one or twice and put up on the shelf, and Earthworm Jim and Clockwork Knight 2 are still shrink wrapped! Definitely my best rummage find this year. I always seem to have a big find after Sean announces his get together...and all of the stuff that isn't going into my collection will be at Sean's next weekend.
WOOHOO!

Helluva good find for Goodwill Hunter. I haven't gotten that good of a deal on anything since the time my girlfriend and I found an authentic, never been used Zippo lighter for a quarter.

That's awesome Goodwill.
If Friday counts as the weekend, well, yesterday some rebuilt mall opened. It was alright, but let me tell you how weird it is to walk inside an EBGames that's absolutely neat and tidy. @_@
At the EBGames:
We Love Katamari - PS2
Trauma Center - DS
Apparently I bought the last/only copy of Trauma Center there. Whoa.

the ebgames in the mall aroundhere is amazingly organized and clean. Not one piece of merchandise is not where it isn't supposed to be, also the same store doesn;t allow children under 15 without an adult in the store!!!!!!!!!

Cauterize: Nice find on Xtreme 2 complete for only £5 :)
What is that Mega Man clock btw? What does it have to do with Mega Man. I saw it on Ebay for a few bucks a while ago, but I passed it. Didnt like the design of it from the picture I saw on Ebay.

Just one so far. Complete and extremely nice upright Phoenix. The flyback on the monitor is toast, but the board works and plays. Even the chip that makes the little tune it plays works (usually doesn't). Total of $40 out the door at an auction in Ft Worth.

Yanya Caballista - $9.99( I hear this one's hard to find)

Picked up Gungrave Overdose today for $9 and then grabbed a copy of Syberia II (PC) for $10
Really looking forward to Syberia II. The first one was a fantastic adventure game that just did everything right...voice acting, storyline, graphics, music, and most importantly puzzles that made sense and didn't require you to backtrack for a half hour to find a random piece of a puzzle you need. Not a difficult game at all, but rich with atmosphere and personality. If only The Longest Journey and Grim Fandango had puzzles nearly as well designed.
Gungrave Overdose... I don't know. I haven't played the first one, but I've heard people both shit all over and praise both games, so I guess I'll really just have to play them for myself at some point.
