Well, If you like Zelda LTTP, Minish Cap is just superb. I'd also reccomend Metroid Fusion and if you're an RPG fan:

- Golden Sun
- Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald

And if you like tatics RPGs:

- Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
- Advance Wars

I'm not a huge RPG fan, but I will look into Metroid Fusion! I probably should mention this is for when I'm commution to/from work so nothing too deep or nothing you cant save as & when!

Double Dragon Advance sounds good as does Bubble Bobble old & new (this is one I was thinking of getting)

I got into the GBA late. I am currently playing "Wario Ware Inc" and "Advance Wars 2". Previous games that I have played are: "Advance Wars".

You should play some of the Castlevania games for the GBA.

Circle of the Moon and Aria of Sorrow are my favorites.
Harmony of Dissonance is also good.

I recently picked up One Piece. Not a fighter like the PS2 and GC games, but very good beat 'em up. I suggest beat 'em up fans pick this one up.

Yes, I suggest the Castlevania games as well. The Metroid games rock, and, of course, classic Mario stuff is always good.

I know you said you're not an RPG guy, but Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis is one of the top strategy games EVER.

I wasn't aware there was anything else available on GBA other than Wario Ware Inc. Maybe it's because that's all I play :(

Here are a few games that are definitely worth your time:

Castlevania: All three of them
Astro Boy:Omega Factor (this game rocks!)
Metroid: Zero Mission
Metroid Fusion
Advance Wars I+II
Fire Emblem I+II
Mario and Luigi: Superstar Sage
Final Fantasy: Dawn of Souls
Golden Sun I+II
Zelda: The Minish Cap

Generally, before you go out and spend your hard-earned cash for a new GBA game, you can always try them out on an emulator to see if you like them or not. ;)

My vote also goes to the Castlevania Games!

I mgonna say Riveria. Its an awsome RPG, and despite the way it plays, its really fun. The characters have alot of personality, and plenty of interaction for character development. Battles are unique and fun, and the story is interesting.
Give it a try.

All of the NES Classiscs are pure gold on the GBA 8-)

Sonic Advance is a blast.

Anyone else hear that Konami are to release a 2 in 1 Castlevania cartridge for the GBA? That'd be sweet.

Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga is definately one of the better games on the gba.

If you have a Flash Cart, then try out the top 25 NES games and the top GB and GBC games with Pocket NES and Goomba respectively:

After playing advance wars on ds i'll never go back. Never!

The "Wars" series has been around on the Super Famicom and even the Famicom! It has a long history. If you really like the series, you should give every Wars game a try. That is the kind of guy that I am. It may be a while before I get to the DS entry in the series though.

Notes:
It's spelled Riviera, and it's a little too easy and short.

And the Castlevania NES remake is pretty screwed to hell. The hit detection is horribly off, dragon heads shoot two fireballs and not three, and the Frankenstein boss is reversed. At least, that's how my copy is.

Final Fantasy Tactics
Zelda Minish Cap

Anything newer is worthless

ouch that's kind of a bold statement

I just picked up Rebelstar Tactical Command and I'm really digging it. Anyone who liked the old X-Com games is sured to love this.

If you want a quick fix type game, go for one of the game and watch gallery series. They have a variety of the old game & watch titles and have unlockables. They are usually readily available used. They are good for times when you don't have the luxury of sitting for too long.

Play Lunar Legend. That was fun. Takes a fair amount of time. Not too bad though.

Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga is definitely one of the better games on the gba.

To me, M&L:SS is the worst GBA game ever. Why? 3 words: Peach Escort Mission. She's dumber then a bag of rocks! She won't slow down for anything, causing her to get captured instantly becuase she went too far off the screen!

Anyway, Best GBA Games:

- All Casltevania Games
- Mega Man Battle Network 3: Blue Version
- Pokemon FireRed\LeafGreen (Unless you have Pokemon Red\Blue\Yellow already)
- Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge

It's not as if the entire game is an escort mission or anything, if you think one escort mission makes the whole game horrible you are vastly mistaken.

i'm gonna recommend Kuru Kuru Kururin. An excellent game which had me hooked for hours. As an idea it sounds odd but the gameplay is all there. Its a nice little puzzle/action game that demands you be extremely accurate

Rebelstar: Tactical Command is a pretty good game, and I'll second it. Haven't played a whole ton of it yet, but I like it.

I hated the Lunar Legend GBA game, though. Way too many better things out there.

Iridion II is a decent shmup - they did some AMAZING graphics things with the limited GBA hardware and it looks great for a GBA game. It's also under $10 most places.

Sigma Star Saga is a bit of an acquired taste, but I actually like it - it's a cool hybrid of RPG + shmup.

Of course the Pokemon games rule, but he doesn't like RPGs...

Here's what I'd like to know: how are some of the more recent GBA games to come out, like Yoshi: Tilt n Tumble, Warioware Twisted, or DK: King of Swing?

I'll second Sigma Star Saga... reminds me of Guardian Legend on the NES.

Other suggestions;

River City Ransom EX
Metal Slug Advance
Gradius Galaxies
Puzzle Fighter
Sega Arcade Hits
Namco Museum
R-Type 3
Fire Emblem series (seconding)
Metroid series (also seconding)
Castlevania series (et cetera)
Advance Wars series (etc)
Zelda Minish Cap (Zzzz)
Mega Man Zero series (**coma**)
Astroboy: Omega Factor (**flatline**)
Game & Watch Gallery series (**dead**)

I'm gonna have to say that Iridion II is really cool. I just picked it up, and it is a solid shooter. Lots of fun. Wow.

My two favorite games for the GBA are Warioware Inc and Warioware Twisted. These are some of the most addictive games that I have ever played. I've spent hours playing both games. If you do get those games, you might would want to buy some extra AA batteries. LOL

Sonic Advance is a fun game with lots to offer. I can't put it down; even though I already beat it on the GOOD ending fifteen times!!!

Megaman & Bass is a hard, arcade/platformer-style game, but once you get the hang of it, playing as Bass with every weapon and upgrade can be quite a ride!

ah man, you're stuck with a first generation GBA? Get an SP or a DS with its rechargable batteries :D

But I would definetely agree with WarioWare being the killer app for the GBA.

Since my micro time is these short 5-20 bursts, I play mostly puzzle games.

Mr Driller 2

I have one GBA game...don't have a GBA unit but a Nintendo DS. I bought Baseball Advance since I wanted a baseball game and there's no DS Baseball yet. This was recommended to me on these boards and I love it though I find it very hard to hit home runs. I think I've hit one so far. It's the best baseball game for the system though it's rosters are far out of date, the game coming out about 4 years ago.

Yeah, get a GBASP2 and a 256Mb EFA-linker flash card. Always keep Wario Ware Inc on the card, as whenever you get stuck in another game on the card, you can always take a break by playing some Wario Ware :)

I'm using the M3 and it is never out of my Micro these days. Hopping from one game to another is just bliss :)
