All of them, when I can afford it. I think having all 3 in the current generation gives me another reason to get up in the morning.

I'll picking a Revolution on Launch day for sure; It's simply too bizarre and unique for me to pass up. I really can't wait to see what Nintendo has up their sleeves with this one.

PS3 will definitely be the next system I buy, although I'll probably wait for a price drop first. It'll almost undoubtedly be the system with the most Japanese games and RPG's, and God knows I need those.

And Xbox 360 will be the final one I buy, probably around the time it hits $150 or less, much like I did with the original Xbox.

I'm gonna get a Rev also. Mainly because it also plays ALL old Nintendo games too.

All of them... I'm a sucker for systems... I get em' all.

Only the Revolution for me. Although my brother will probably end up buying the PS3, so technically I will be able to play that as well.
XBox360 doesn't appeal to me at all.

All of them..not right away but all of them..

Depending on price, I might buy a Revolution soon after launch. I will likely wait until the first price drop to buy a PS3. I'll probably get a 360 for Christmas this year, as I'm not spending my own money on that...

10-09-2005, 03:24 PM
Just Revolution initially but I might end up getting another a year or two down the line to play football (Soccer, that is) & bemani games if the Revolution isn't well served with them.

i'll be getting a Rev, followed by a PS3. Will not be getting an Xbox360.

I was brought up on Playstations, so naturally I'm a self confessed PS fanboy. I'll be getting the PS3 either when it comes down in price, or when GTA 4 comes out. Or maybe, if my family comes into some money through work, I'll get it as a late 18th and 19th Birthday present. My birthday is in November and I didn't get anything "special" for my 18th last year.

Then the Revolution has me sort of interested. I'd rather not have an Xbox 360 because it just doesn't appeal to me. (not because, coincidentally, M$ is t eh suxxzorz)

If the revolution is a cheap as I think it will be I'll pick that up first. After the PS3 or Xbox 360 are around 150 I'll get one or both.

I think I'll start off the next gen with the Revolution. Then, I think I'll pick up the X360 a little after the HD version hits $299, maybe $199. And after all that, I MIGHT pick up a PS3.

But who knows. I wanted to start off the last gen with an Xbox but ended up getting a Cube instead. So we'll see.

I was previously excited about the 360 but not any more. So now don't see me getting either the PS3 or 360. For the Revolution it all depends on pricing and what the games are like

Hard to say as of now. Most likely i will end up with the PS3 first because of a new Tekken and/or Ace Combat game.

I Have a PS1 and PS2. Why break the chain?

I'll have to go with so many others on this. All three, when cash flow allows. I am looking forward to each in their own way. Hopefully these systems will truly be a new next generation experience that is worthy of the gamers money.

Anagrama: hasn't this thread been done every week since the consoles were announced? :P

I'm most interested in getting a PS3 at the moment. Gamecube disappointed me, I don't like the Xbox and the PS2 slowly and quietly grew on me. It's got some fantastic games, and I hope it continues that trend. I can handle the crap as long as there's a steady drizzle of quality.

I'll get a NRev and a PS3. Why, you ask?

- PS3 can (possibly) run "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night" and other PSone games!
- For NRev, "Super Smash Bros. Revelution", and being able to play "Super Msash Bros. Melee"!

Also, I plan on buying a NDS when "Mega Man Battle Network 5: Double Team" is released.

I will Defintly Get a Revolution (Hopefully During the Launch)

I wll Most Likely Get A PS3 (A few Years After Launch When they fix the DRE's That will most Likely Happen)

I Will Not get a 360 untill Several Years after The Last Game IS Put out (So I dont Give Microsoft CASH)

Im going to get my BF an XBox 360 for his birthday...

I expect to buy a Revolution at launch, and then maybe after a year or so picking up a PS3. Of course, since we know so little about both in terms of launch price/games, that could change. I'm just really happy with my DS and will likely continue my Nintendo lovin' ways into the next-gen.

i'm thinking revolution if the library looks good. then i'll get the xb360 since i dont have an xbox still. i'm really iffy about sony this next run

Mitch_Naz
10-10-2005, 02:59 PM
I will likely get all three, but im only rushing out for the XBOX 360 for xbox live (friends, best online service) shooter and it will be my bridge from a PC because I cant afford to keep up.

And the REVOLUTION, I always enjoy something different and new (i.e - DS, Virtual Boy etc) another DS vs PSP battle me thinks in Japan atleast.

For the PS3, I will get it in time but its nothing Im really excitied about. Wait for a price drop and some great games.

I'm getting an Xbox 360 for Christmas, and a Revolution at (or close) to launch.

I probably won't get a PS3...at least not for a long time. I don't even own a PS2 yet. $ony sucks massive amounts of ass.

All three of the major ones. I don't like limiting my selection of games...

CrimsonNugget

Xbox 360, as it is being hyped up in the best possible ways, and will likely be in the top 2. When getting consoles I try to go with the flow to get the best experience. I got a Saturn and missed a whole generation of games because of my stupid fanboyism.

10-10-2005, 04:09 PM
I've already pre-ordered my 360 (the $399 version) with Full Auto.

I'm starting to find myself more and more intrigued by the Revolution, even though the controller still bugs me (I like the 3-D aspect of the controller - its just the design that bugs me. I'm sure I'll get over it). If Nintendo would come up with some new franchises, I'll definately buy one. Mario and the rest of the gang had a nice run, but it's time to step aside now. Nintendo - PLEASE come up with some new games. OR at least bring back some of your "gone but not forgotten" ones (Kid Icarus 2, one can only hope???)

PS3 - probably not. The blu-ray is about the only thing on this machine that I'd find a use for. Sony's games just don't appeal to me. And if I wanted to play an RPG (which I don't) I'll pop a CD in the ol' PC and fire it up. But I'll probably pass on the PS3.

I've noticed a lot of (possibly unreasonable) love for the Revolution and hate for the PS3 on this forum. Why? What's so astoundingly fantastic about the Revolution? And what's so astoundingly craptacular about the PS3?

The PS3 is just another unneccessary platform. Sony just throws out a crappy console that is overhyped and breaks easily, and third parties develop lots of games for it. Sony themselves rarely develop games, whereas Microsoft and Nintendo do develop games for their respective platforms.

The PS3 just seems unneccessary. Its power is being exaggerated, just like the PS2's power over the Dreamcast - it wasn't that much more powerful. $ony never tries to do anything new with the industry, and just steals ideas from others. Nintendo came up with lots of new things, and the only thing $ony does is steal them. $ony is also extremely slow to catch up with the times - 4 controller ports on a console have been standard since the Nintendo 64 in 1996, but now it's 2005 and the PS2 still only has 2 controller ports?

I personally am doing the Revolution simply due to price and original games. I know that initially I will likely only be able to afford one system, and given the neat controller ideas and the wireless DS compatibility, the Revo gets my nod.

On the other hand, I have no idea why so many are chosing the 360 over the PS3. I figure that there will be alot of games released for both, so I figured I'm chosing between Sony's and Microsoft's exclusives, and for me I pick Sony. I will say I hate it when threads like this become a bashing ground of Micro$oft and $ony, etc. All game companies are businesses, all businesses want to make $, so get over it.

Out of this last generation of systems, I got the ps2 first then the Cube and last the xbox. Now with the new systems I might do it : Xbox, Rev and last the PS3.
I continue to pick up the rare games for the ps2 but haven't played it in many many months. I am the most interested in the Rev, but it will be a long wait so I figure I will get the Xbox to hold me over until the Rev comes out. Just really ticked at the new price point M$ is trying to push. :(

I KNOW that i'll get the $400 Xbox 360! :D It has MANY games that interest me!

I might buy a Revolution for Warioware - Gotta love wario - He - A - Numba - 1!

I don't think i'll buy a PS3. It just does not have enough games that interest me, and it's sony's.

If the Revolution is anything like the DS then it's well worth all the hype. I'm playing my DS more than the Gamecube, Xbox, PS2, Dreamcast and PSP combined.

I am buying a Rev on launch day... it will be the first time I ever get a new system the day of it's release. I'll ignore the 360 but I may pick up a used xbox (current one) if the price is right ($50 or less). I just want to play a handful of xbox games... mostly Ninja Gaiden and the Sega exclusives. It will be quite a while before I go for the PS3. My target price is about $200 new or $150 used or less. Since it looks like it'll come out between 4-5 hundred that should take a year or two. Before any of the next-gen consoles I have to pick up a DS... :embarrassed: yeah... it's been a rough year, tight money-wise.

Well, my gameplan was to stick with my PSP for as long as possible and wait out all 3 consoles, then choose one and one only. But it's going to be kind of hard to resist picking up a 360 when nearly all OXM content will quickly become 360, and everywhere you go will be 360, 360, 360. Add to that the fact that they made Elderscrolls and Kameo launch titles, it's going to be harder for me to resist buying one.

If the 360 gets Shenmue 3 then my willpower is shattered. LOL LOL

Nintendo Revolution - definitely

PS3 or X360 - depends which has best sales or best variety in games

I really don't know much about the Rev yet, but if the price is right, I'll probably get one :)

PS3 can get me if it turns out to be true about Linux, etc. And the Blu-Ray player is good, I'm dying to see 1080p movies.

After checking out x360, I doubt I will ever get one. Already had an Xbox and it didn't do anything for me.

The only systems I plan to buy in the foreseeable future are a GP2X and maybe Nintendo's next console.

I've been contemplating building myself a monster of a gaming PC in the next year or two, though, just to satisfy the graphics whore in me.

Like most people I'll probably end up with all three consoles. I'll probably get an Xbox360 first. I like the idea of a Hard Drive and I prefer Microsoft's exclusives at this point. Bioware RPGs, Elder Scrolls Oblivion and probably many nice PC ports of games that my Laptop would explode if I tried to play them. I'm hoping that Alan Wake will come out on the 360, of alll the PS3 games I've seen, that's been the only one to really interest me.

Mr Mort
11-13-2005, 04:16 AM
I've already got my 360 paid in full and I'm taking 2 days off to bask in its glory as soon as it hits.

I'm very intrigued by the Revolution, and I'm almost certain I'll get it when it launches if only for the promise of new gameplay experiences the controller offers. I'm hoping the Revolution will offer the most innovative and creative new gameplay experiences yet.

I'd like to say that I won't be touching the PS3 with a 10-meter cattle prod, but I said the same thing of the PS2, and I still got one, and have a ton of games for it. But as I see it right now, I have zero desire to purchase a PS3, seeing as very little in the way of actual gameplay footage has been shown and there's no software announced for it that remotely interests me. I'm not going to lie, I'm not a big fan of Sony at all, but it didn't keep me from buying a PS2. Nevertheless, I'm sticking with the 360 and the Rev for my next-gen needs.

phreak97

Gears of War, Metal Gear Solid 4, Pilotwings Revolution: Must own all 3.
There you go. I'm not sure I'd go for Pilotwings, but the Rev will have some great titles on there as well.
