I dont know if anyone remember my previous posts, but I bought a GBA game on Ebay from a UK seller. When I recived it it turned out to be a pirated copy and the seller rerfused to give me any refund.
So I contacted Paypal and they needed proof that the game was a pirate. It took a while to get this, even had to drive far to get it (no gamestores close to where I live) and fax it to Paypal.
Today I got reply from Paypal that I had to ship back the game to the seller with trackingnumber and I have to cover the shipping costs! @_@
Shipping with tracking costs about $10 - $15 and I payed about $25 for the game. If I send it back I (most likely) wont get a full refund either so I will acctualy lose money.
Im not sure that I will do this just for the principle.
I e-mailed Paypal about this and they only replied:
You asked PayPal to make a decision on the case, PayPal can not allow you to keep the item and the funds.
This is a fucking bad system! Why should I have to cover the returning shipping because the seller sold me a pirated GBA game? Where is the logic? O_O
I will still contunie to use Paypal, its a great way to pay. But if you want to complaint its horrible, god damn this pisses me off.

Apparently not pissed off enough to make them change the way they operate. Why would they care if you still keep using their service, and paying them money?

Shit, I bet you're the first person ever to start a thread about Paypal and their poor customer service.

Ok, give me the money because I win this bet. Paypal or check, what do you prefer? :) Send me a pm.
I dont see what point you try to make, except an attempt to "look down" on what I write.
So Im not the first, whats the deal? There are many xbox topics, do you say the same comment in those topics too? :P

Well, the system is great, but the customer service is horrible. Paypal is the only option for payment anyway, if you dont live in the same country.

I dont think you can pay online with BidPay if your not living in USA. I checked a while ago, maybe they changed it?

How is it so expensive to send the game back? Where do you live, and where does the seller live? I assume that this is a US to UK purchase or something similar. Does the game work? Maybe since it is going to be a hassel you should just stick with what you have. The seller probably knows it is not worth it for the buyer to send it back, and even if you do they will probably just sell it to someone else.
If it is a pirate cart you should report the sale to Nintendo of America. They probably won't do anything, but at least your complaint against this seller will be on record.

I dont live in the UK, thats why it cost so much to send it :\
Ye, I thought about it, I dont think I will return the game. I will lose money and have no game, altho the game have no value to me because its a pirate. It works fine what I can tell, only tried it for 5 min. or so.
I e-mailed the seller yesterday, hoping I could get money from her now since I showed her the Paypal mail. That way she might give me refund and I dont have to return the game.
Thanks for the tip on reporting it to NOA.

That's a way sketchier was to pay than Paypal. Much, much easier to get scammed using BidPay.

I agree, BidPay is the favorite of scam artists who want to pay you via Western Union Money Orders. Sure everything has a flaw or two, but I think BidPay is way more expensive too.

You can use Bidpay if you're in the UK. Bidpay will issue cheques in UK pounds sterling, but they charge an extra $5 or something to do so.
As for check or Paypal, I prefer cheque for two reasons:
(a) Paypal sucks (as mentioned previously)
(b) Cashing a cheque doesn't carry a 5% fee!
If you paid through Paypal from a credit card, rather than a credit balance at ebay then you can always ask your credit card company to charge back the money. Of course, Paypal will probably then suspend your account ...
The other solution: next time you receive a pirated game, submit a claim that it never arrived. Unless the seller sent it by online trackable delivery, Paypal will automatically refund your money. And you won't have to send anything back because it nobody can prove that you have anything.
Yep, it's devious - but probably justified, I would say.
If you're feeling in a good mood, you can always return the game anonymously by standard post at your lesiure.

I guess it depends on what the case is about. I have complained once about not reciving the games I bought and I did get a refund pretty quick. That seller have "PayPal Buyer Protection" tho. Maybe thats why I got a refund quick. The seller who I bought the GBA game from didnt have "PayPal Buyer Protection".

Ye, this might be a good way to do it. But on the other hand, some sellers might give you full refund if you confront them with that it is a pirate. I did this once and got full refund.
