I've got a PSP with version 1.52 firmware. Now, I was thinking about getting the 2.0 firmware and using the downgrader. However, Sony recently released 2.01, which (supposedly) will not work with the downgrader. So, what should I do? Upgrade and wait for the inevitable hack? Do nothing? Or will the downgrader work with 1.52?

downgrade, and use the WAB version changer if you want everything as far as emus and all that goes..

Or upgrade to 2.0...which i would reccomend... So much good stuff, downloading podcasts, movies, and MP3s straight onto your psp outnumbers the emulators in my opionion.. plus, you can always downgrade if you miss the emulators.

I dont see any advantage to 2.01 besides playing games that require that FW.. GTA : LCS has gone gold, so it is going to probably require 1.52 or 2.0 FW..

Why not just use a newer PSP game that has the V2.0 upgrade on it and downgrade from that? Or can you only get the upgrade by going online with your PSP?

You could certainly attempt using the downgrader with 1.52 if you're feeling bold. However, I'll bet you can find a copy of the 2.0 firmware still floating around on various PSP sites and such. It was readily available for a fairly long time, so it's bound to be quite circulated by now.

I had a 1.51 and used the downgrader. You have to upgrade to 2.0, and then it goes back to 1.50. Works with a 1.52 also, since you have to upgrade before you can downgrade.

Worked like a charm, and the 2.0 firmware is easily available on the web - I actually just got my PSP a few weeks ago, and downgraded about a week ago.
