What if any one system would be found by the wherehouse load and FOREVER drop to Sega Genesis price level. Now there would be no quick flipping once the supply ran out because the supply would never run out. So its merely a matter of what system you would pick up just to play and have. Which one do you wish it would be?

After getting rid of my Adventurevision because it was way overvalued (no gameplay value) I though of the one system that I don't have that I'd like to have just to play. The Neo Geo. Its a bit overpriced and all the games are so expensive I find it hard to justify. However if the system were to drop to $20 and the games could be had for $1-$5 I'd be all over it.

The Atari Jaguar or TurboGrafx-16 system models/variations fetch a pretty penny these days, for a Jaguar it's usually $40+ and for a good TurboDuo it's $150+

I wanna USA Bandai Pippen (aka Pippen Atmark.) Even if they only made 7 games for it. I still want one, and I wanna American one, not a Japanese one. Hmmp.

Neo Geo AES

as all the others are pretty low price already.

It seems that there are a lot of cool Vectrex games that go for a fair bit of money. I'm pretty interested in completing that collection, but I don't really want to spend the $50+ that alot of them go for.

I'd vote for both of the handhelds.

If the DS goes down to $99, I'll snatch one.

I had a PSP, and was EXTREMELY dissapointed with it. I'd buy another one when the price goes WAAAAAAAAAAY down (i.e $99 or lower) and a killer app comes out for it. I was looking forward to GTA:LCS and GT4 mobile when the machine came out. But when i heard nothing good was coming out until late november, I sold it. Such a waste of $250.... :/

I really want to buy a Turbo Duo but figuring the price and limited # of games I really want, I’ll probably never get one. As for the Neo Geo, I bought a MVS “home console” just to play the Metal Slugs… (That and Blazing Star and King of Fighters and Samurai Showdown IV,V and V Special and…..)

Not to break too far off of the subject but I am really thankful for the Neo MVS. If it wasn’t for that system I would not be able to have a copy of Metal Slug 1, 2, 3, and X in my home.

It would be a dream come true if they found a warehouse of Laseractive consoles, control packs, and 3D goggles. :D

Neo Geo, I'm getting one someday, but now is not the time.

A Turbo Duo, easily. I NEED one of these eventually (Must...play....Ys!!) but they're just too damned expensive. I'm always praying that I'll run into one for $20 or less at a garage sale.

Neo Geo (any model) and/or the Jaguar CD add-on. They're the only two consoles left, I need to complete my collection (and the MOST expensive).

The PS2

We are going to need as many working units as possible. :D

Yeah, it's a cheap shot and I'm "hatin'". Nothing new here.

I would like to have a Gameboy Micro. Just because it's so damn nice looking. But $100 is waaaaaay to much to spend on that little thing.

Neo Geo.

Id love to play some of that stuff the way it was intended plus it would be so funny to hear the people that spent thousands of dollars on ttheir games crying.

Another vote for the handhelds. The DS and PSP are way too expensive. The GBA SP and GBA Micro are even more overpriced considering they're last generation stuff, more or less.

Drop the GBAs to "$50" and recycle those old Atari 2600 commercials. ONLY $50!

Neo Geo AES by a long shot.

Second would be Neo Geo CD, followed by TurboGrafx-16/PC Engine.

Another vote for neo geo here. There are some systems like the Jaguar that aren't super expensive but are still more than I want to pay.

Incidentally, I have an opportunity to buy a Jaguar with no games for $23.99. Anybody think that's a good deal?

I think there is only one correct answer here. AES.

Definitely the Neo Geo. As you said BA, I'd love to have one, but for the games it has.. it's kind of just.. overpriced.

Neo Geo AES as everyone has pretty much said.

Without a doubt Neo Geo and Vectrex. Jaguar items are still pretty cheap. I bought 2 new CD add ons a few years ago for $40 each. I bought 2 new Jaguars for $19.99 each. Still have the stickers on the boxes from KB Toys. I have a Vectrex, but sure as sh*t can't afford any games for it. I don't have a Neo Geo, nor will I ever unless I won the lottery.

surpised no one said 3DO!!!!

3DO was $700 when it came out

if it was a few hundred dollars cheaper, it would have done well.

I was going to say 3DO, but he did say the 1 system we "wanted." :D

I would love to have a Neo. A Neo over a 3DO any day of the week.

I always get tickled by how much some posts get off the original topic, like complaining about the current price of GAMES or bitching about how much a console cost when it was NEW (but is cheap now.) LOL

I, too, would also like a Laseractive. Forgot that one!

I would have gone with AES too, but the original post didn't say that all the games would go down in price, too. I can't afford those crazy AES game prices! :(

Not consoles per se....but I'd love to be able to afford a few arcade cabs.

I used to go to auction in the pre-ebay days and get as many as I could haul for $10-$50 each. Even when I was dirt broke I managed to aquire 40 machines. Those days are over now :(

In order:

Neo Geo AES
NTSC CD32
TurboDuo

Everything else is either already within my price range, or not generally of interest to me (Adventurevision).

Y'know, now that I think about it, I'm not sure AES would carry the same mystique if all the games could be had for $20 each... Sure, the system has it's classics like the Metal Slugs and KOF's and such, but honestly, a LOT of the games have aged VERY poorly (ie, 90% of the early fighting games). A lot of times it doesn't even compare all that favorably to what the SNES was doing at the same time for a fraction of the price. I think a lot of the desire to the NeoGeo is a matter of wanting what we can't have.

(I do have an AES by the way)

TurboDuo.. all the ones I ever see are around $200 and there is no way I could justify that to my wife.

Vectrex.. I should have picked one up years ago.

AES like a lot of people have already said. I've had quite a few people over the years asking through my site if I had a spare one or could get them a cheap one. If I could afford to carry spares, I'd have gladly helped them out but my one AES is treasured!

every console in the world should drop to like, $10 just for me so I can buy all the ones I don't have yet. Especially import consoles so I can play import games.

I wish arcade cabinets were cheaper. Many can be had fairly inexpensively, but a lot of the time the shipping would be more than the game itself. I would definitly make the space if I had the opportunity at a nice condition cabinet that didn't cost $300 to ship.

I've never played a Neo Geo, but I'd like to try.

By the way, are those Neo Geo pocket plus 6-10 game packages on ebay worth the $40-$60?

I'd also like a cabinet or 2. I know I could fit one in my basement no prob and it would go well with the bar/pool hall/room of doom motif 8-)
