I know nothing about this game, so I'm trying to find more information. Several years ago, I came into possession of a developer copy of Shadowhawk for the Super Nintendo. My understanding is that it was developed but never released, due to the weak SNES market and no distributor would pick it up. It's based on the Image Comics title of the same name, and I've seen one or two articles discussing it on the internet, but that's all I've come up with. The cart itself isn't actually a cart, but a circuitboard. the card is too big to fit into a SNES grey plastic case. It's completely playable, however. At any rate, it's been collecting dust (or at least the static free bag and envelope I've kept it in are) for several years and I'd like to find out how rare this is, what it may be worth and what the best way to sell it might be. If anyone has more information, please contact me at racerrex@yahoo.com. Thanks!

I know this sounds lame, but I don't have a camera, I'll see what I can drum up but it will take me a couple of days. Like I said, I'm just trying to find out more about it.

Since the last time I posted regarding the Shadowhawk prototype, I've done some reading. It has3 (I think) 3 eproms on it. I'm going to test it sometime in the next couple of weeks to see if there's any apparent bit rot, and get some pics to post. if everything checks out, what's the best way to auction it off? Sounds like Ebay doesn't really like it when people post this kind of thing. any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanksl

Who needs eBay? I'm sure there are people on this very forum that would be willing to give you top dollar. Lots of "proto collectors" about.

We could conduct an auction right here if you like.

I'll make it a sticky and people can reply with their bids. You set the min price the reserve and the time frame. We won't charge you any auction fees and you are sure to get some nice bids in this forum. Everyone coming in will see it.

Thanks Buyatari. That sounds like a good idea-I'd like to make sure it gets ripped to ROM though (provided I don't have a useless piece of plastic on my hands)-I'd like to make that a condition upon sale. Although there's no way to make sure anyone would honor it, I'd think that the spirit of this page is to make stuff like this available. I'll have some pics posted by next week.

Most of us DPer's lives in USA (about half are in Michigan) and we could come over to take pictures for you. I have a nice digital camera that takes 1280x960 and can take closeups as close as 1" from the object.

I live in NW Washington state (Bellingham) and I've got a buddy with a SNES and a digital camera, but he just moved, so I'm waiting for him to unpack his crap. thanks anyway. I'll see if I can at least get a pic of the circuitboard, so you all don't think I'm full of it.

What kind of game is it? I'd sure as heck love to play the ROM.

videogames.com did an article on it a while back:

http://www.videogames.com/features/universal/graveyard/supernin_02.html

it's pretty accurate. It's an ok to above ok game. nothing groundbreaking, but kind of cool how it combined the two styles. Keep in mind I haven't played it in about 6 or 7 years, but I recall it being slightly better than mediocre.

Really? Why's that? :hmm:

Because we did a michigan roll call thread and quite a number of people showed up on it from michigan...bizarre since michigan generally doesn't come to mind when you think of video game people.

I finally got around to testing the cart and taking some snapshots-
THis is the open screen-

Here's a shot of the cart itself-

I tried to get a shot of the game play but it didn't turn out well. I played through the first couple of levels and there doesn't appear to be any bit rot. it played just fine, and the graphics were just fine.

I posted these pics on a geocities page, so if you can't see them, try back later. I'm ready to sell this thing, so any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Cool game, but I dont have the moolah to invest in it :(
