heres a game i picked up at a flea market, its called "22 dragon ball Z 3". my hunch is that its a pirate knock off, the plastic is of a lower quality than a normal SNES game and the printing is low quality in finishing.

i guess i found it unusal that a pirate would go to such trouble with a box and all. anybody know anything about this game?

here are the pics

SNS-TN-USA should be the code for Mindscape's "The Terminator".

So, I'm pretty sure this is a pirate copy but wow! it looks exactly like the real thing.

just noticed on the box front it says "super nintend" minus the "o"

now i should really see what happens when i try it on the snes...yeah that would be good :/

the non-fitting back label kinda tipped me off...

The Barcode is for Oscar (http://vgrebirth.org/games/game.asp?id=8082) for SNES.

seen that on ebay before. "omg, rare us-released dragon ball z game!". someone needs better photocopying skill with that stretched out cover.

so i fired it up, feels like the cheap shell could snap but it does work, its dragonball Z 3, bandai 1994. i'm guessing the "22" is just thrown on the box to confuse people with the DBZ ultimate 22 game for the playstation. looks like this pirate came out well after 94 to cash in on the US dragon ball craze.

Well, considering that the series Dragon Ball wasn't known at all here back when the Suoer Famicom game came out (at least outside of Quebec -- here, the DB mania took off circa 1994-95, several years before it became popular elsewhere in North America), it's a sure thing that it is a pirated copy, as it wasn't ported to the SNES.

so was the 'Suoer Famicom' a pirate too? LOL

Yeah, there was a guy who sold tons of those on ebay back in 2001. I had some pics on my site, but I haven't got around to put them back up after the redesign. I'm thinking they are from Mexico.

I think also it is a bootleg. I remember the reviews of French DB games in Europe. The games were released for the French market mainly, but as Nintendo saw The Netherlands/Belgium/France as one region the games were also released in these parts outside France. The games were damn cheap when PS1 came, but now they are nowhere to find. Anyway it's a funny boot to own.

Of course its a bootleg.

IT is a rad ass bootleg though. I sure as hell woulda snagged it.

Back in the good ole days software piracy was an artform ya dig? Nowadays any chump with a cd burner can do it. Theres no creativity.....

I've seen that it some Ranma pirate I saw on ebay. The seller tried to claim that it wasn't a pirate, but damn, it was pretty obvious.

There are 3 or 4 different dragon ball games in the flea markets here. Theyre new! Does anyone want any? I can go buy them!!!

I've got a different Dragonball Z game for the SNES that I picked up at a GameStop in a Buy 2 Get 1 sale a while back thinking it must be pretty rare.

I was surprised to find out that it was a pirate. A really well done pirate cart, but a pirate cart nonetheless.

nah you can tell this is a pirate once you get your hands on the plastic, its not the same stuff and SNES games are. still its pretty good, i guess the thing that impressed me was that they bothered making the box so close to an actual one. of course the printing is not very sharp and the pics look stretched but other than that...

i picked it up in used condition along with a legit boxed game "vortex", it was $3 so even though its bogus i'm happy. i had no clue when i bought it, i figured "hey DBZ is that kid nerd craze, this might have some value"

Wow...that is a lot of effort for a bootleg.

But I knew instantly it was a pirate because there were no SNES DBZ games, just Super Famicon.

I gotta give this guy a lot of credit though for not only making an SNES version (albeit pirated) of a SF game and taking the time to fabricate an almost-authentic-looking box and label. And hey, you got a Super Famicon game that works on your SNES for a decent price. So woot

That's hardly conclusive evidence in itself - there's plenty of legitimate products made in Mexico.

However, these carts are undoubtably boots - they've been discussed here a couple of times in the past too...
