It's cold outside. Your family is cooking a great big feast for dinner. You have no work and no worries. You find yourself on the sofa with a big quilt. On your stool you have a great big cup of hot chocolate. You sit layback relax and ask one of your family members to insert ____________ into your ____________. It's time to play.

When I picture those kinds of days, I imagine having a bunch of buddies over and watching someone play more so than me by myself playing something, and in those kinds of situations, we like to watch some Hydlide or King's Field (any game in the two series). o_O Yes, I know I'm strange. :P

I generally want to play a game on one of the pre-NES platforms, but generally speaking I can never decide on which one.

So, I default to a more modern game that I play the hell out of, such as right, that'd be Halo 2.

Something about Zelda: Lttp. I remember comming home from school back in middle school. It would be snowing, and cold etc. I would pop that baby in a just play all night. For some reason I would enjoy doing the same thing again. No worries, no nothing, just Zelda.

Super Mario 64 into N64. 8-)

Most likely the reason you answered Zelda Ocarina is that it's one of those "warm n fuzzies" good memories games. Winter always makes me want to play those hugely epic N64 games like Ocarina or DK64, Diddy Kong Racing, Banjo Kazooie or Tooie, Conker etal. Since it's autumn right now, I always get a jones to play the Tick Tock Woods (late autumn) level in Banjo Kazooie. You can look up in first person view and watch the leaves swirl lazily to the ground around you.

Other than that, it's RPGs or racers. But since the thread needs a definite answer let's do this. Pop Shenmue into my Dreamcast. :D Shenmue 1 and 2 are the ultimate "good feeling" games. I pray that we see number 3.

Just whatever I'm playing at the moment.

But in the past I've had excellent memories of school being cancelled due to snow and ice and sitting at mine or a friends house and playing the shit out of Final Fantasy II or Legend of Zelda: LttP. Hell, even some Mario Paint.

I've got quite a few that fit that bill easily...

-Shenmue(Dreamcast)
-Worms: Armageddon(Dreamcast)
-Space Station Silicon Valley(N64)
-Twisted Metal 2(PSX)
-Super Mario 64(N64)

Those are my favorite "rainy day games"

Dimitri
10-13-2005, 04:36 AM
Either Sonic 3 & Knuckles or Metroid Prime. A rainy day demands a beautiful, isolated game to go along with it.

Perhaps I'll try playing Ico again next time it rains, actually...

Donkey Kong Country 2, or perhaps Resident Evil 3 for Psx.

Anything Castlevania. The dreariness complements the gothic splendor.

Usually I go for something a bit slower like Broken Sword 2 or any of the Tex Murphy series. Monkey Island is always good too.

If for some reason I'm feeling twitchy there's nothing like a bit of DoDonPachi.

Edit: Typos.

Streetball 21

Usually it's a Mario game, preferably Super Mario 64. If not that, maybe GTA San Andreas or Vice City.
