I haven't seen any posts about this, so I thought I would post it. Its REALLY bad, but its nintendo powers top 200 nintendo games of all time. Theres only about 80 said so far. They list about 40 games per issue until the 200th issue.

I've thought it was pretty good so far. I mean, they did run a disclaimer saying it was for Nintendo systems only.

Any list that has River City Ransom, both Breath of Fire 1 and 2, Lufia 2, Illusion of Gaia, and Baten Kaitos is damned good in my book.
Some of the choices are bit questionable though...The SNES version of Final Fight sucks royally (compared to the arcade version and especially the Game Boy Advance remake!) , and I can barely comprehend why Gyromite and Simpsons Road Rage are on there.
Oh well. Different strokes, I suppose.

Nintendo put the SNES port of Mortal Kombat on a list of top Nintendo games (and only a few positions behind MK2, no less)? @_@
Personally, I think a "top 200" list is way too big for anything, but I'll refrain from commenting until I see the final list. However, if Zelda: A Link to the Past doesn't make the top 5 or 10, I'm not buying the Revolution.

I kind of agree with what's been said about the list so far. It doesn't suck, but it's extremely shaky. Why would you expect otherwise? Have you never read NP's reviews?

I actually have the first few issues of the Nintendo fan club magazine that was before Nintendo power and the first 2-3 years of Nintendo power I used to wait everymonth for my issue to come in the mail when I was a kid but now Ive picked up maybe one Nintendo power every couple years just to see if theres been any improvement alas its all in vein.

Well, most Zelda fans rate that and OOT as the best Zelda games, but you certainly are entilted to your opinion. Personally, I have been playing since '79, and rate ALTTP as my third favorite game ever, right behind Phantasy Star (SMS) and Ys: Book I & II (Turbo Grafx CD-ROM). But, everyone has different opinions. Just like the overwhelming majority of hard-core Star Wars fans prefer Empire Strikes Back (followed by A New Hope), but a small vocal minority rank Return of the Jedi as their favorites. Well, let me stop rambling on and get some sleep. 8-)

It's always been a joke of a magazine, but when it came out there wasn't anything better for console games :)
In replay to the OP, Tony Hawk 2 on GBA is pretty damn good. Imagine a modern day portable 720, and you have Tony Hawk 2 GBA. They did a pretty good job of porting over the arenas from the console versions, too.

Instead of commenting on the list itself, did they say anywhere how this list was compiled? Online votes? Had to vote for your top 5 favorites? I don't see any chronic stinkaroos on there. I don't like the Tony Hawk series, but I am an anomoly like that. :)

I seriously imagine the top 10 to have DS games, just to hype them up. I still love Nintendo but they seem to do stupid shit like that. Just look at the last "list" in the 100th issue. The issue was published about a year after the Nintendo 64's launch. Super Mario 64 was #1 and the list was full of 1st gen N64 games. They put Turok (#25) and some N64 soccer game (#27) before FUCKING EARTHBOUND (#60).

Well, that's not too bad, because they were somewhat right with Mario 64. Nine years later, it probably still belongs in the top 10.

Those new additions aren't that bad. Super Punchout should be higher, and Killer 7 should be lower, in my opinion.
Luigi's Mansion is too high. It's not a bad game, but it's rather simplistic and short to be called better than a lot of the excellent games before it.
Th 200-120 ones are all over the place though. Some ranked way too high, some ranked WAY too low.
Not a single Mega Man or Final Fantasy game yet? I guess they're yet to come.
I don't get too worked up about lists too much though. They're so subjective, and incorporate so many games that really aren't comparable, that there's no way you'll ever be able to make a list that can please everyone.
