I'm going to Rochester for the weekend and I was wondering if anyone knew any video gaming stores (or flea markets or pawn shops) that carry NES games.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Check the phone book.

There is a store called GameCraze. They often even have coupons in the yellow pages. They carry a little bit of everything - Atari, NES, Jaguar, even saw a Neo cart there once. A bit pricey though.

EB games are everywhere as usual. There's probably more, but I only lived there for a year, and wasn't into game collecting then.

It's been some five years or so since I've been there, but there used to be a place in downtown Rochester on Monroe Ave called HO/RC Hobbies that dealt in a lot of games.

Here's (http://local.yahoo.com/NY/Rochester/Retail+Shopping/Toys+Games/Video+Games;_ylt=Atms1eJ3RLVP8ZrjeMY3_qmgNcIF;_ylu =X3oDMTBtM2E3N2g3BF9zAzk2NjEzNzY3BHNlYwNici10b3A-) a list of game stores I just pulled from Yahoo. All of these pretty much opened long after I moved out of the area in 1990.

There's not much in the way of flea markets. I have friends up there that want to hit the fleas by me every time they're down since they don't have anything on a regular basis. Can't help at all on pawn shops since if there are any I wouldn't go near the parts of the city they'd be in.

That place has commercials on TV all the time. Should be pretty easy to find.

If you were going to Syracuse, then I could help ya. LOL There is this one place in Syracuse that is extremely flithy with over priced games, including several huge shelves of crappy NES carts. It's about a half a mile south of the Carousel Center Mall. There is a huge Sunday Regional Flea Market as well right across the street north of the mall. They always have game and DVD dealers. It's a place to visit every week as it's never a sure thing what they will drag in. I was there about 5 weeks ago, and there was a lot of NES cart games around as well as Sega and Game Gear.

But really other than that, it's pretty sparce for finding used games especially of the cart nature. Sure they have a load of EB game stores and the like, but I don't really recommend those. Really the only way to get good games up here is to hit the garage sales every week. But, if you are able to drive an hour to make it to the Syracuse flea market, I would recommend it, as I usually find something there, be it DVDs, records, cds, or video games.

Well, Buffalo has a huge weekend flea market as well. It was pretty impressive with many game dealers and bigger than Syracuse's flea market. It's only about an hour away from Rochester, so you may want to consider it.

Sadly, the best pawns and salvation armies up in central NY are always found in the tiny towns way out in the middle of no where. I really don't recommend hitting any in the large cities, as it's usually a waste of time.

HORC has good stuff and good prices but I had a problem with the guy that owns the pace in the past.

My favorite shop is on Greece Ridge Road across from Greece Ridge Mall called Game Station, I like them so give them some business, you will like it too. The kid that works there is a collector and I think he sells a bunch of his stuff out of the place. Lots of boxed SNES games, a bunch of NES carts and some manuals some boxed games. There is even an AES for sale, 250 with 2 games I believe. Stop over at my house so I can own you at a game of your choosing. :D

And by the way, The Mario is Missing frisbee is not for sale, I have tried. LOL

It's funny you said that because I was thought about adding the same thing but decided against it since the last time I dealt with him personally was over 15 years ago. I guess he hasn't changed. :)
