Ok, after about a year of being in the cabinet of unused stuff in my entertainment center (along with an old VCR, video rewinder, and various cords), i decided to take the old friend out to play some goldeneye.

After about 20 minutes of play the system resets, first giving me a blank screen, than resetting as if i had pressed the reset button, "ok, there were some wires resting on the reset button, it's possible they exerted enough force to actually push it in?" guess again.

I move the cords off, and reset it, about 15 minutes later it happens again...i pull out the game and blow into it, i open the flaps to where the cartritge goes on the system and blow into that.

I thought that may have been it, but than 15 minutes later it does it again, after that i just turned it off and called it a night.

Does anyone know if this is normal for dieing N64's or a simple solution to this problem? (hopefully without dissasembling the entire system)

Don't blow into your carts, clean their connectors with a bit of alcohol instead. LOL If you haven't played the system or game in a long time then more than likely the cartridge simply needs to be cleaned, might also want to clean the system connector as well. Basic maintenance.

Ok i'll try this later today, sounds simple enough. Haha and you really arent supposed to blow into your cartridges? I've been doing that since i was like 5 years old lol.

Blowing into your carts can cause corrosion to your carts where the pins are that plug into the system. They corrode enough, which I believe would take a very long time if just from blowing dust, and they may not function correctly.

What if he gives the cart a nice handjob instead?

Kidding. What about waving the cart?
