According to Nintendo's website, Gamecubes with the digital A/V output port stopped being manufactured in May of 2004. The purple/indigo Gamecubes pretty much disappeared from store shelves soon after.
My question is...does anyone have an indigo Gamecube WITHOUT the digital A/V port? Can it be assumed that all indigo cubes have the port?
Any help is appreciated.
Aaron.

That's a good question. I've seen a lot of Gamecubes but never have i seen a Purple or Indigo one without digital a/v.
Woah they stoped making purple cubes why?

All i see on store shelves these days are black gamecubes. I only see indigo gamecubes being sold used. It never crossed my mind till you mentioned it.
Just a thought: Maybe indigo's a popular colour, hence no one's buying the black gamecubes. :)

A friend of mine has a purple Cube without the port. It's also missing one of the expansion ports on the bottom (whichever one isn't used by the modem or Game Boy Player). I also noticed that the black plastic "window" on my Cube's lid is removable (even has Nintendo and GameCube logos underneath!), whereas his is not. It was obviously meant to be removed...but why? Were interchangeable lids planned at one time?
Overall, his Cube just seemed to be of a lower quality than mine (a platinum one, probably the last generation with all the bells and whistles). Even the plastic looked and felt cheap. Maybe it was just me...
