Anyone know how to? I see there are slots on the side, I tried to gently pry but doesnt look as if thats the way to open it.
Help.

You simply need to take something pointly (I used and Xacto) and pry off the little rubberized pieces on the border of the screen. Underneath there are tri-wing screws. I used an eyeglass screwdriver and had no problem. The screen itself is attached to the "face glass", so it is very simple to remove. Those slots on the side have no use as far as I can tell. I do warn you though, if you are replacing it with an SP2 screen, you need to also use the SP2 mobo, as it has additional circuitry required for the backlit screen.

Thanks, I was thinking I maybe had to take off thise rubber things but wasnt sure. I am taking out the screen to use to hopefully front light my NGPC. I just won a broken SP with the screen intact for like 3 bux and an extra NGPC for 5 bux the week before. I really hope this works, I had other ideas as well to front light but this seems a little easier.
When you opened up yours, how does the frontlight actually work? Surface LEDS along the glass?

Lights are built directly into the screen. Wired directly to the screen ribbon cable.
