Is this in relation to the DS game or just general?
You better believe she's given it up for him. It's just that on a Nintendo game they kind of gloss over that fact. However, trust me, he isn't saving her for nothing.

Luigi has daisy...and he gets it for free...not much of that saving stuff goin on just pure pipe action. He just tags along with his brother cause he feels bad he is always gettin blue balled. I can asure after like the fourth time of Mario gettin his ass kicked all throughout a world and then hearing "YOUR PRINCESS IS IN ANOTHER CASTLE"...He took that little toad guy aside and...well...I'll stop here....

Quite possibly. We have to ask why Bowser would kidnap the princess. It's certainly not for a ransom, despite all the gold coins she and her family must have. Is it to assume power? He could easy have done that with the princess in his clutches but he makes no move to. If he wants to get rid of Mario so much there has to be better ways to do this.
What goes on in the castles whilst Mario is bopping his way through various worlds? Is Bowser simply frustrated that he's unloved, and is jealous of the love that Mario receives from Peach? How does he vent that frustration once he has her? At this point, we can only specualte. I think we need to get Bowser in for a nice chat on a comfy couch.
(This is by far the most bullshit post I've ever written on DP LOL )

If I remember the story of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (and it's been a while since I finished the game) it really just boils down to Bowser being a little "off" in the head, believing that his only real job in life is to kidnap the Princess and getting offended if anybody else dare do HIS job. Mario on the other hand is an insufferable do-goodnik who expects no reward for writing wrong and rescuing damsels in distress, because that's HIS job. Can you really imagine Mario coming back and saying hey, you never thanked me for rescuing you, how about a little gratitude in bed? Ugh, no. I'm all for adult games like Liberty City Stories but I think in this case I'm happy Mario has never gone M.

It's practically canon that Peach and bowser make bowser's kids while she's kidnapped. We don't know how many months it takes mario to get to her afterall, and she could always just be having secret births back at home or something.
