He might be telling the truth. Check his bid history.
Vroomfunkel
10-16-2005, 03:33 PM
He has bid for and won a lot of items recently. However they are all items similar to ones that he has won and paid for in the past, judging by previous feedback.
Even if he is telling the truth, I can't get a final value fee credit without filing a non-paying bidder report as far as I know.

Did you do an advance search and check "Include completed listings (last 30 days)" ?
This doesnt really prove anything, but if theres tons of bids..

Well, he is still insisting that he did not place the bid :
eBay 24-Oct-05 at 13:41:25 BST
An Unpaid Item dispute has been opened for the following item: Ghouls and Ghosts - Megadrive / Mega Drive BOX ONLY! (#8224923551)
Reason given for Unpaid Item: The buyer has not paid for the item.
Buyer actions reported by seller: Other reason.
joelthejester 24-Oct-05 at 13:42:59 BST
Buyer claims account was hijacked and that the bid was placed falsely by someone else, therefore this
dispute is filed in order to recover the final value fee as the item was subsequently sold to second bidder.
bubbaswift 24-Oct-05 at 19:06:35 BST
SOMEONE HIJACKED MY ACCOUNT AND USED IT TO PLACE A BID ON AN ITEM I DID NOT WANT I DONT OWN A SEGA
MEGADRIVE SO WHY BID FOR AN EMPTY BOX.
However, a quick look at his feedback shows a recent good feedback for Predator 2 for the Megadrive. If he doesn't have a Megdrive, why is he buying - and apparently paying for - Megadrive games?

Hmmm... Judging by the above, seems the buyer bidded on the item, then realised that it was just a box only... Not wanting to buy just a box, they then make up some random lie to cover themselves to avoid paying for just a box
Check his feedbacks, and if he has a feedback for some Mega Drive games, then that more or less proves that they have bought Mega Drive games in the past, and paid for them, as no self respecting seller would leave feedback before payment was received...
EDIT: Here...
bubbaswift buying habits (http://cgi6.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidItems&userid=bubbaswift&completed=1&all=0&rows=100&sort=3)
bubbaswift feedback (http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=bubbaswift)
Mega Drive games are items that begin with "822", and by the looks of the feedbacks, this bidder only really buys Dvd's, as I can find no trace of Mega Drive games in the past until recently...

What, like this one:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=112794&item=8223825454
Feeback from seller on this item : Excellent payment received thanks A++++
Feedback from bubbaswift on this item: EXCELLENT RECEIVED ITEM TODAY THANKYOU VERY MUCH
He had better have a good explanation or else it is negative feedback time ... I really can't stand people who try to lie their way out of things.

Got postive feedback so he must have payed. But the thing might be as mentioned above that he didnt relize it was the box only. Just confront him with these auctions, why he bought MD games if he doesnt own one.
He probly say there were for a friend or something tho hehe.

File a non paying bidder report with eBay. If it was him then he deserves it. If it wasn't then your report to eBay is the least of his problems. I'm sure that once he proves to eBay that his account was hijacked he can get the account reactivated.

Is it really worth all that just to get negged back?
Insaneclown
10-25-2005, 10:59 PM
I would tell him pay for the ebay fees...then were both cool.
Is it really worth all that just to get negged back?
As a buyer I would rather see sellers with retalitory negatives than have sellers with 100% positives and wonder how many negatives they really had that were not reported.

 Exactly. I really don't get it why people are so obsessed with have no negatives. I have no problems buying from someone with a has a few retallitory negatives. Everyone complains the feedback system is broken, but behaviour like this only makes it worse. If someone is a bad seller, leave a negative.

... so I don't actually need to worry about that.

Definitly looks like he didnt read the auction...
I hate it when people do this.. no matter how much you mention something, you always get someone that "didnt realise this" or "didnt realise that"
You can actually get your fees back without filing a non payer though.. you file a dispute, but choose the reason for filing a dispute with the buyer as being "we mutually agreed to cancel the transaction"
That way its basically the same as an NPB, but they dont get strike.. so if its a genuine mistake I use this.. i.e. when people buy 2 items in a multiple buy it now auction, which has happened 3 times in the past week! ARGH!

Man, I get them all at the moment.
After I sent out invoice emails, another guy emails me to claim that he received an email saying he hadn't won the item.
I politely send a reply saying that he definitely has won it, and that the auction page shows him as the highest bidder. I don't hear anything else, so a while later I send a reminder email.
His reply? "Since I got an email saying I didn't win this one, I bought a copy from someone else".
Asshole. I sent him an invoice ten minutes after the auction ended. I replied instantly to his email. I am willing to bet that he didn't get any such email about not winning at all. He just won another one cheaper somewhere and decided he couldn't be arsed to pay for mine.

The fact is not that he got another one cheaper. I would lay good money on the fact that he bidded, then later realised it was an auction for box only, and decided that he doesn't want just a box.
Just negative him, and leave an NPB alert. If he leaves you a negative, you are quite within your rights to appeal it with eBay, and stand a good chance of getting it forcibly removed (Yes, this can be done! Especially in this circumstance!)

Well, I messaged him about the subsequent MD games he won and paid for, but he didn't bother to reply. So I gave him his well deserved neg, and got this message today:
WHY ARE YOU LEAVING ME NEGATIVE FEEDBACK I TOLD YOU THAT MY ACCOUNT WAS HACKED INTO AND SOMEONE WAS USING MY ACCOUNT THEY ALSO BOUGHT OTHER MEGADRIVE ITEMS FROM MY ACCOUNT NOT ME JACK ASS
I tried to bite my tongue, but in the end I couldn't resist sending him a reply, just because I don't want the arrogant little prick to think that he is fooling anyone with his BS. Here's my reply:
"Of course, that's why the sellers left you feedback stating that you paid them, and you left them feedback saying thanks for the game.
Try harder next time. And take my advice - don't quit the day job to go for the big con just yet."
Tum - te - tum, user bubbaswift added to blocked bidders from all my future auctions. Recommend you all do likewise!

Get the little booger to pay for the fee, then leave him a negative feedback. I hate people who tries to get out of a deal at the last second with some lame ass excuse.

LISTEN YOU WANKER IT WAS SOMEONE IN MY FAMILY WHO GOT INTO MY ACCOUNT AND USED POSTAL ORDERS TO PAY FOR THE MEGADRIVE ITEMS NOT ME SO GETA LIFE YOU COCK SUCKER IF WE EVER MET IN THE STREET GOD HELP YOU MATE
:hmm:
This little screw-up appears to have some anger management problems in addition to compulsive lying and rather poor aspirations of confidence trickster.
Think I might just get this sent to eBay and see if I can't get him banned.

Whenever I see a negative, I don't look poorly upon is as you can usually tell who is at fault from the style and quality of writing. If you write a response to his neg, then it really shouldn't affect you much overall. All caps vs. your writing is no contest. I would just leave him the negative and give him what he deserves for lying.
If you brought up his past megadrive purchase he will probably be like, "uh, that was for my friend."

NEG HIM. Maybe if he receives a couple negs
- he'll learn not to bid & then change his mind
- or if telling the truth - pick a better password that people can't hijack - he probably has "mom" as his pass! LOL

Yeah, well I hope he likes the hole that he has dug for himself. I've sent copies of his email to eBay and to his ISP, noting that making threats of physical harm is actually a criminal offence.
Not that it bothers me at all - I think he is either an idiot, a 13 year old, or barking mad. Or all three. But probably not a danger in any way.
Nevertheless, I think people who choose to engage in that manner deserve everything they get in terms of censure.
I hope he loses his internet provision. I've left him his neg, and recovered the item fee from ebay, so I'm done with it for now. I'm not going to bother replying to any more of his dim-witted emails, and if he makes further threats I'll pass it on to the police.

Our customer has been sent a warning email. This email also requests that our customer responds to the email within a set time or we will take further action.

PIPEX Abuse Response Team
Funnily enough, eBay don't appear to have done anything yet beyond sending out their standard 'thanks for contacting us' auto-response.
eBay are lame. But anyway, looks like our friendly idiot will be getting something to think about in his inbox at least.
I rather hope that it is followed by a similar communique from eBay. Might make him think twice about that kind of tactic again.

Seems like our friend Mr. Swift has some big problems ... more recent feedback for him:
Neutral : Buyer was unable to complete transaction but good comunication
Neutral feedback rating : Pulled out of sale because he says he has lost his job
Negative feedback rating : worst ebayer ever, sent payment and sais he never recieved it- yeah rite
Either he is a compulsive liar, or else he's been dealing with his problems at work the same way he tries to deal with his problems on eBay, and got the sack ...
... or both!
