How is the game at this time? Any screenshots? Will it be on cartridge?
I was wondering if anybody has any plans to program an all-text game for the 5200?

You're looking for our good buddy Cafeman, "Koffi Maker" extraordinaire. :-D
He finished up his outstanding game at the end of last year and shipped them just in time for the holidays! You can check out more on the game here:

Nifty! Hopefully, this will start a number of Atari 5200 homebrews, just like the ColecoVision and Vectrex have.
Stage 4 looks especially good.

This is my favorite so far of the 5200 homebrews! This game ROCKS!!!
I do believe thou the first edition run of this game is sold out.
This is actually one of 4 homebrews already out, there's several more in the works as we speak!
Atariage has a nice little page to help you keep track of what's instore for us:

I had the good fortune of meeting up with Ron Lloyd at the latest CinciClassic. Not only are his game design and programming skills excellent, but he is a nice guy to boot!
Here is a link to an interview that I conducted with him:

I HIGHLY recommend this game!
Cheers,
Michael

Here I am! Yep, I finished the code October 30, 2002. Since then I've been making carts, taking orders and shipping them out. As of now, all 100 are accounted for. In fact, I am making the last 8 right now as we speak! The most unfun part of it has been trying to take off the labels from some of the Pac-Man commons ... most came off easily, and GooGone removed the residue, but these past 15 or 20 have been real problems, splintering and ripping and refusing to die a quick death. I use a hair drying, flat scraper, and lots of elbow grease. Fortunately, I'm good at repetetive back-n-forth motions with my right hand. (BECAUSE I PLAY GUITAR, YOU PERVERTS!). ;)
If you want a copy of Koffi, check AtariAge's site later on sometime in February, they will manufacture the standard Karts after I've sold off & shipped the 100 First Editions.
I don't know of anyone doing a Text Adventure for 5200. Without a keyboard, it might not be a fun idea!
Thanks, all!

Those adventure-style games are especially intriguing.
Congratulations on coming out with (the first?) Atari 5200 homebrew! What happens from here could prove to be very enjoyable for 5200 owners.
As for all-text: you really don't need a keyboard. ColecoVision Lord of the Dungeon is a terrific RPG, and my own "Island of Foxes" also doesn't require one; you are presented with multiple choices at any given time. The all-text simply means that no extra memory is spent on cosmetics, so allowing more gameplay (e.g. more monsters, places, greater interaction, etc.).
I WILL get ahold of a Commodore 64 and I WILL get that game done before CGE 2003...I hope...

Thanks man. Castle Blast was the first 5200 homebrew incidentally.
