Ok now the first is a given its PSM ;) but the second is GameInformer wich also gave it a perfect score.
It will be interesting to see what EGM,Gamespot and IGN have to say about it.
So far very good :D I cant wait to pick this one up.

So far so good indeed.
I'm really looking forward to playing Ada's part of the game. :)

I think that I'll do what I do everytime a Resident Evil game comes out. I'll buy it, and if the control scheme is the same, I'll remember why I didn't like the others, and return it. I think I've done it for all the RE games so far.
I call it Gran Turismo-ing - as I've done it with that series too. I buy it based on good reviews, then remember I don't like the series, and then I sell it.

PSM. No surprise.
Game Informer, no surprise as well. GI loves to give PS2 games the edge of Gamecube games.

You do know that Resident Evil 4 is vastly different to previous instalments, right?

Nope. How so?

I have to say, the only reason why I'll be picking up this game will be so that I can play through Ada Wongs part in it. That and to keep my licensed RE collection complete still.

I tell myself that everytime - that's why I keep buying them. Maybe this time, it really will be different and I'll keep it.

But it really is. Different camera system, different control scheme, different everything. It's different and you had better enjoy it.
I'm not really suprised to see it scoring so highly on the PS2 since it's already scored so well on the GC and it's got a lot of additional content. Looks like capcom didn't fuck it up.
EDIT: How the hell did i manage to misspell Different, differently 3 time in one sentence?

If the control scheme really is different and an improvement I may actually enjoy this RE title.

Wow. A lot of people haven't played the best game of this year so far.
Totally surprised me.
This game is nothing like Resident Evil people. The storyline is absurdly different as well.

I fear that I may be the only person on the planet who didn't enjoy this game X_x Hehe I actually wrote a review for the site and gave it a 6 overall, but I doubt it's going to get put up as it was atrociously written.

It wouldn't surprise me if the same people who haven't played Resident Evil 4, haven't heard of the GameCube either...

Yes, the controls are TOTALLY different from all of the other RE games. And this isn't a "go find the key - puzzle type of game" either. (although there are a few easy puzzles..) but it's mainly all action - even during the cutscenes (don't put the controller down) :D

I think at least one of the GI reviewers gave the GC version RE4 a 10 as well.

WOW I am really SURPRISED also X_x
You see this is a perfect example of why its a damn GOOD THING that Capcom ported RE4 over to the PS2 there are so many ppl out there that never even gave the little-cube-that-could a second glance and ONLY know Playstation and there will be thousands of gamers (even if most are the casual type) that will be able to experience the brilliance that is Resident Evil 4 for the first time on PS2.
I am very biased though :D since Ive never had any problems with the controls of the RE series and luv just about every game in the series main storyline esp: RE directors cut, RE3 Nemesis, RE Code Veronica and the comeback kid RE4 :rocker:

Try resident evil 2 on the n64. Only version with a good control.

I just played the PS2 demo, and I must say, the framerate holds up quite well. Which, makes me happy.
I wish I could chop of those loose analog sticks though. Ah well, can't win'em all.

*sigh*
The "perfect" score for the game (ostensibly just because it's on the PS2) makes me want to vomit. Biased gaming media in any form just plain sucks.

I cant wait to pick this one up too... wait i beat it like
3 months ago on the gamecube.
The only reason i can think of that they would release this game again on another console is because some people
only have a ps2 and actually waited.. (instead of blowing the whole $40 on a used gamecube) I two thumbs up'd this game 3 months ago, but the feeling is gone once you beat it and feel bad for the gamers who did'nt jump this bandwagon when it was released for the gamecube.
Im not stabbin at people that only own a ps2, im just mad
because sony comes out with games like "Downhill Domination" and it never makes it to the xbox or gamecube
so you buy a ps2 just to play that game, but if it came out
on the xbox now i wouldnt buy it because i already humped it on the ps2.

Um, no? It has nothing to do with the system it's on. It has to do with the extra features on top of one of the best games to come out of this generation of consoles.

This is probably the best experience I've ever had in gaming. I couldn't put the controller down from one second to the next. Absolutely amazing game play, compelling story, LOTS of fun and just scary enough for my tastes...
...sounds like some of you who haven't played it are in for a huge treat!! :)
