Oh and by the way It is Gamefaqs 10th anniversery (Like we really frikin care) :evil: and thats why they're having this contest.
Not necessarily your favorite games...but simply the best games ever created.
An interesting quote. Some questions:
1. Gee, Ceej, are you pretty much admitting that your users don't know shit from shinola?
2. On what basis is any game "better" than your favorite game anyway?
3. Does anyone really think that this rule is going to hold?
4. What if the illustrious Mr. Veasey decides your best game evar11! is a joke game? GameFAQs administration is not known for its even handedness or even its competency...

Man do I need to actually sit down and play that game. I loved Rayman 1, but never got into 2...

And yes, really strage contest. With rules like that, they are essentially saying that if they get any entries that they don't like, they can eliminate them. So, even though I think that a game like Tempest 2000 might be the best ever, if they hate it they could consider it a "joke" and remove it.
Very odd.
Couldn't they just pool all of their review results together and get a point ranking like that? That would be more fair. Maybe eliminate any games with less than 5 or 10 reviews?
Oh well, never expect that site to be intelligent. I love how the prizes are gift certificates to "an online store." Care to tell me what it is? I have no use for a gift certificate to a lot of places...

I entered and posted my list at my blog. I mostly find it more interesting to guess what the GameFaqs user-base will actually pick - I have little doubt that it will be very different from my personal picks.

That's why I hate GameFAQs. I can already predict that 5 or 6 of the top 10 will be Final Fantasy games, and at least 8 will be something else by Square.

I never do those damn contests becuase it should be a writting thing but it's just a popularity contest. FF, Zelda and Mario. I think they should make it an essay contest. (yea right, like that will happen) No Leet speak, and it must be coherent. That might just be enough to make it fair for all.

Holy shit. We're talking about the same game, right? Thirty characters with literally the same exact block of dialogue in every situation, but put through a dialecticizer? Ridiculously slow battles that under the experience system aren't even necessary? The worst magic system since FF8's "sit there and hit 'Draw' six dozen times"? The two alternate worlds that might have been really interesting if they weren't exactly the same? Be serious, now.
