Xbox Controller Question

I finally picked up a modded Xbox that has MAMEOX on it. I'm considering a controller like the X-Arcade but right now, before the holidays, cost is something I have to consider (2 kids and an extended family). Can anyone recommend another equivalent controller?

How much are you looking to spend?

My buddy picked up the Street Fighter Anniversary stick and it's great. Ran him $60. Definitely comparable.

The SFA stick is decent, but I don't really care for the Western style sticks in which the stick handle is gated to a perfect circle. In other words, you can't feel the diagonals. I'd much rather have a sort of star or even square gating so you can feel the directions better. And frankly I don't think the diagonals actuate across wide enough angles, either. The buttons only feel so-so, and many of them were loose in the sockets when I got mine. In other words, it looks nice and pretty, but there are much better sticks out there.

Any of you guys tried the Tekken stick? I kinda wonder how that would feel with a PS2-to-XBox adapter slapped on it.

I haven't decided on how much I'm willing to pay but $100 + is definitely out of reach. I may swing by GS/Babbages/EB and see if they have anything someone may have traded in. I just find it nearly frustrating to be playing Pac-Man, Gyruss, Donkey Kong, Zaxxon and Track and Field with a controller instead of a stick. I've seen a nice looking one from pelican (seems like it got good reviews) but I've heard so many bad things about their other products, I'm on the fence about it. Any others?
