Always heard about 'em-- never played one.
But now I want to 'cause I've seen how the gameplay's way cool!
These are the one I've heard about ....
"Kirby SuperStar"
"Kirby's Avalanche"
"Kirby's Dream Course"
"Kirby DreamLand 3"
Which one of those would you recommend?
Are there other SNES "Kirby" games I didn't mention?
What SNES "Kirby" game would you recommend as the best representative of the "Kirby" franchise who's never played a"Kirby" game before?
Later!
:) :) :)
Hmm...looks like an official poll on this topic would've been a good idea: 'Best SNES Kirby game'
Capital suggestion!

Of the ones I know for the SNES I would say Dream Land 3 would be the best representative of the series. Kirby Avalanche plays similar to Tetris, Kirby Dream Course is a difficult golf game with Kirby characters, and I've never played Kirby Super Star.

Really, all are good, except maybe Dream Course. I don't know, it's just not that fun...
Then again, if you don't like Puyo Puyo, you might want to avoid Avalanche. It's Compiles classic puzzle game in disqise again!

Kirby's Super Star.
It's the //best// Kirby Game period IMO. It's basically a bunch of "Kirby Mini Games" in one. Now. I do not mean "Mini Games" like 'SLIDING TILE PUZZLE!" or "CRANE PICK UP!" I mean it's like a bunch of Mini Kirby 'Stories' that play like platformers packaged together, with some 'puzzle like' mini games like Gourmet Race and Megaton Punch on the side.
Also the ability to turn your stolen ability into a good guy version of one of the Monsters to follow you around in some of the Mini games (if not all. I can't quite remember this.)
The First 'Episode' is a complete 'mini remake' of the Gameboy Game, so you gotta love it.

I just wanna show some love for Kirby's Dream Course. Its one of the SNES games that I've actually kept for myself to play. I think it's a pretty interesting golf game with Kirby as the ball. You have angles to work with like in putt putt, certain spins, and obviously lots of obstacles to avoid or use to your advantage. Thumbs up from me.

Another vote for Kirby Super Star here. As far as I'm concerned, it's the quintessential Kirby game.
I have much love for Kirby's Dream Course, though.

They're all excellent, though Avalanche and Dream Course are spin-offs and they don't play much like a normal kirby game. I'd go with Super Star as being the best overall.

Dreamcouse is in my Top 20 games of all time. Everything about that game is awesome and is extremely challenging (unlike most Kirby platformers). It plays like a quirky golf game, but it beats the hell out of any Kirby game out there.
Show Dreamcourse some love!

I gotta recommend Kirby Dreamland 3 as the pinnacle of not just the SNES games, but of the entire Kirby series. However, Kirby Super Star does come very close, but I gotta give my preference to KD3, as all the individual tasks in all of the stages add to the gameplay and replayability of it all. It took me a while to figure out a few of them, though the one where Samus Aran makes a guest appearance was obvious (freeze and destroy the Metroids)! :)

Another vote for: Kirby Super Star
Hands down the my favorite Kirby game of all time. It gets the most play out of all my Kirby games and I think I have most all of them. Great game go get it.

That's precisely what I was lookin' for -- the quintessential "Kirby" game that best implemented "Kirby"-ness lol
OK -- "Kirby Superstar" it is, then!
Thanks guys!

That really is an odd statement, considering how every Kirby game on the SNES has radically different gameplay.
I too will give my nod to Kirby Super Star. Kirby's Dream Land 3 just became too different with the addition of the animals. Instead of being an action-packed romp with quirky powers around every corner, it was almost sort of a surreal slow-paced puzzle game with some overly frustrating moments. (I mean, how could you possibly guess that you'd need Rick's feather dusting power to help out flowers in that one level?)

I've only played Kirby Super Star and Kirby's Dream Land 3. Kirby Super Star is the better of the two, but try to get Dream Land 3 if you can, too.

Super Star's a great one. DL3 is good too, even if it's a toughie to find. First game I ever used an online guide for too.

Super Star is the longest and most enjoyable. However, Dream Course I thought was actually well put together. Play it with a friend for best results!

Super Star, much to do in that game.
I didn't vote, because I haven't played Superstars or Dream Land 3. I played the other two though, and I like avalanche the best out of the two, but I have to admit I didn't really give Dream Course a chance. I'll have to give them a try though, I'm glad someone did a poll on this! :)

I voted for Kirby's Avalanche simply because it's hard as hell.

I hate to go against the topic, but because you're new to the series, you really shouldn't play the SNES games first. Instead, start with either the first Kirby game (Game Boy, Kirby's Dreamland) or the best Kirby game--Kirby's Adventure. It was released for the NES around the same time as the Game Boy game, years after the Super Nintendo had been around. It's a pinnacle achievement in the history of digital art. In many respects, Kirby's Adventure stands on equal ground with Super Mario Bros. 3.
Anyway, as for best Kirby SNES game, I've gotta go with Super Star.

I voted Kirby's Avalanche for the puzzle action. I appear to enjoy RPGs, Side-scrolling shooters, and Puzzle games on my SNES and enjoy Avalanche a lot. Dreamcourse is also a great game but if you want Adventure, go for the Dream 3 or SuperStar. It's all a matter of what you feel like playing! :)

Kirby's Dream Course. It's probably the only Kirby game I adore.

I haven't played all of the Kirby games but I own Superstars and it's very addicting, and fun to play. I am sure the others are too though... Tought decision. ;)
