Wasn't there one for like $1,250 on ebay a little while ago? Or was that the same action but in US dollars.
Either way, nobody in the right mind would buy either of them.

"DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND, I'M LISTING IT AGAIN! THIS IS A ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY TO OWN THIS RARE GAME." LOL LOL LOL

Yep, same guy. Last time it was listed for £750 if I remember right.
That's crazy. I've seen the first zelda sealed go for around $500US before though. Personally I would rather pay that for this game rather than the first zelda. Either way 500 pounds (a bit more than $1000CAN) is way too much for that game! :/

Didn't he list it as PAL the first time, though? This looks like the NTSC version. Could've been the same game, I didn't save the last auction. Either way, ridiculous price. I recall him mentioning that the PAL version is worth lots - there was actually a PAL Zelda (not sure if it was Zelda 1 or 2) factory sealed on, IIRC, the Dutch eBay for 88 euro BIN, and nobody bought it.

Well, not quite true that no-one bought it.
The guy appears to have a stack of them, and several of them have been bought. He has 100% feedback, so they would seem to be genuine, even though the photo does not look to me as if it is a genuine factory seal.
But then again, I am not the expert on Euro factory sealed NES games ...

Where do you see that he has more than one? On his website he claims he may be owning the only factory sealed copy left in the world...so from that statement I would assume he only had/has one copy.

I was talking about the Dutch ebay seller, who had about 10 sealed Zelda 1's available for 88 Euros BIN.

Oh ok, of course! :) I only saw one auction, and it didn't sell - didn't realize he had more of them. I agree that the seal did not look authentic. In a matter of fact, from what I've noticed, NES games were not sold factory sealed in Europe, at least not in most countries. I do believe that there may have been at least one country where the games did receive a factory seal, but that could just have been aftermarket. I didn't live in Europe during the NES era, though, so I have no clue how they were sold, this is just based on what I see on the European eBays.

They were sealed in Europe. Just sealed differently. The first party titles, anyway. In particular, they were sealed with small black circular stickers on the top flap that said "Nintendo" on them. I sold mickoz an italian sealed clu clu land that was like this, and I've seen several others like this also. Canadian first party (only) NES games were sealed the same way.
I think european non first party nes titles may have been sealed with wrap, but I'm not sure. I have a foggy recollection of a PAL double dragon and a PAL castlevania showing up on ebay, and I think they were plastic wrapped although i don't recall for sure. That said, a first party title like zelda should have the black sticker seal.

That's true, I should have used the term shrinkwrapped and not factory sealed. ;) I have also seen some shrinkwrapped PAL games, but they may have just been aftermarket seals, as I have only seen a few sellers sell them. Also, I may be wrong, but it seems as though the black circular sticker seal was only used for the first party titles of PAL-A regions in Europe (and not PAL-B), which would make sense as it likely has something to do with the fact that Mattel took part in the distribution in those regions as well as Canada AFAIK.

Complete insanity. If I had that kind of money to blow on games, I'd be buying Neo Geo stuff.
