I just got a neo geo CDZ from Captian Yashiro and everything is in JAP.. The power adapter says ac 100 and all and the prongs are just like a US wall socket.
This is ok to just plug in right?
or did Yashiro forget to inform me that I would not be receiving his power converter?

It should be fine. I own a Neo Geo CD top loader version with the same kind of power specifications.
On the power adapter it reads: AC100V 50/60Hz 55VA
I've been playing my machine with no problems at all.

Just curious, Raedon. How much did the CDZ cost you?

This is the coolest console I own... :o
It cost me $250 shipped/insured. came with 7 games and one gamepad that feels like a neo geo pocket color.. which is a good thing. It is boxed.

Yeah..that power supply will work fine Raedon :) In fact, I'm using a PAL Power supply for my front loader and even THAT works fine :)
If you need more fighting games, I'd be happy to trade you a few too :)

What is the feeling I'm experiencing? Oh yes... that would be envy. LOL
Enjoy the CDZ. Tell me about the load times too. My console has ridiculous load times! Especially when I put Metal Slug in. I watched that damn monkey for nearly a minute. :o

It would be cooler if you had the homecart system.

mwahahahahahhahahah, soon I shall have Metal Slug MVS. No loading times, wooooo.

load times seem very quick.. mostly just a main load at the beginning. Though I don't have anything here but fighters.
@butta: I can't afford a Neo Geo AES.. it is just to much to spend per game.. I'd rather spend my money with load times and 30 games then have one game that loads fast.

I can get Metal Slug 1 and 2 MVS for cheaper than CD versions, and still play them on my homecart system with a phantom-1. Sure the initial cost is high to get the homecart system and the phantom-1, but it all catches up when you get some of those classic games for 50 and under, and arcade perfect as well.

well, talking about the least expensive way to collect for a system isn't something we really should be debating. put getting an MVS cart to play on an AES is the same as playing Neo Geo threw MAME and that is pretty much free to anyone.
If you want Metal slug AES, yes AES! not some hacked out arcade rom then who is going to be paying more? The guy with the Neo Geo CDZ or the Neo Geo AES guy..
In the end the guy with a standup arcade MVS is going to make off with the best deal.. which isn't a bad idea ;)

butta just likes to rub it in that he has neo and I don't
kinda like the Dirty Sanchez I rubbed on him.

The CD version of Metal Slug only cost me $100.00 plus shipping. Palet or bivari (ebay sellers) usually has them for $100-$120 BIN prices. That's not real bad considering the AES version is the same as the CD version just on another platform.

Actually it's not. Paying for an actual cart is much different than dowloading a rom. Plus I get to play it on my nice tv, instead of my monitor.

Not sure what you're talking about on this one, the MVS plays exactly the same as the AES. Unless you get a bootleg cart, which you don't want anyways.

I hear you. I have a dedicated 4-slot and it is super pimp. But I still like my home cart system better. There is just something about those carts all sitting on the shelf.... soooo perty
Also with a MAS arcade stick attached you can get a truely arcade like feel.
I occasionally bring my Neo into Gamestop and let people play away at games like KoF, Metal Slug X, MotW, Magical Drop and so on...
It's worth it just to see the looks on their faces if #1 they recognise the system or #2 once they here that they are still making games for it.
Ah.. some of my fondest gaming moments were had sitting in front of the TV with the Neo hooked-up.
