I have an NTSC 4 switch woody, modded with the 8BitDomain AV mod (which rocks) in France. The owner in France owns a TV that can accept PAL/SECAM/NTSC signals. He has confirmed NTSC playback with NTSC DVD's.

He is getting a black and white signal from the Atari, in composite.

Anyone have any ideas? I told him to try the S-Video as well. Black and white in S-Video would indicate a disconnected chroma signal, but B/W in composite is baffling. I suspect a setting issue with his TV.

If anyone has any experience with multi signal capable TV's, any advice would be helpful.

There could be the possibility that the NTSC compatibility is restricted to a specific input. On my TV, only the front input is the required 3.58 NTSC-type and the back inputs are 4.43 NTSC and PAL inputs, both of which don't do color on NTSC composite.

Just to be sure, he did test the DVD using composite? ;)
