It was indeed!
Arcade-perfect, but it has some slowdown. I wonder why?

Mr. Do is regularly available on ebay. Expect to pay between $20-30 IIRC.
I LOVE Mr. Do. All of the games are spectacular, but my favorite is Do Run Run! I don't think it's available anywhere outside of MAME though.

Chalk me up as another Mr. Do addict who also feels that the Do Run Run is the best game of the bunch.

It's also WAY LOUDER than every other SNES game I've played, for some reason. Ha ha. Good port, though. I've never gotten a chance to try the vs. mode with anybody. Maybe I'll have to force my girlfriend into a few rounds sometime. Heh.

Arcade-perfect
This game is not "arcade perfect" this game makes the arcade version perfect.
With 2 player mode !!!

It's not even close to Arcade perfect, except that the gameplay is intact, much more slow down then the arcade unit(the arcade had some as I remember also), no tate mode and it's crop'd wrong, but boy' is it fun.
It's one of my most prize'd SNES carts, outside of ebay, it's one tuff find and under price'd IMO.

The VS mode on this game is nice. A great game to repeat the rest of you.

Nah, it wasn't sarcasm. A lot of early SNES games have slowdown, but many of the later ones don't have it. It seems that developers found ways to work around the slow CPU and use the SNES graphics chips more effectively. This game was a late release of an old arcade game and should have been slowdown-free. I chalk it up to a bit of slack programming, not the machine itself.

I got my copy last year... for a buck. :) One of my favorite SNES finds ever. Good game too.

i think the slowdown has to do with the number of moving sprites at a given time. If there are too many things moving all at once then it suffers from slowdown.
So if you play this title on an emulator does that mean this won't happen?

Hmmm I think I'll have to pick up on of these SNES Mr. Do's! for the heck of it :)
Although to me, it doesn't become 'arcade perfect' unless you can do the 255 lives trick  (Thank god I never encountered a machine that didn't allow you to do that.. I'd have been crushed) LOL

An emulator replicates even a console's hardware limitations, so slowdown more than likely will occur on the emulator software as well as the original console.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a genius in the room! LOL, just kidding, man. 8-)
