Now it could just be me but I could of sworn that Mario Kart Double Dash became a top seller game and was being sold for 20 dollars. Am I wrong??? I could be, I wanted to buy another copy so I could do Lan play with my two gamecubes but its selling for 40 bucks used at eb and gamestop. Is it already out of print or something???

Naw, that's just how Nintendo prices their games. A lot of their big name games are still $50 a year or more after their release (like Mario Tennis). And it's pretty annoying too for a cheap-ass like myself.

Tell me about it. I just started Fire Emblem so I've been looking for Double Dash with the bonus disk. Not cheap.

Double Dash had a bonus disc?

On one hand, I can understand why it is annoying. I wish some of the games would come down so I could purchase them. On the other hand, it's also a testament to either:

a) the great quality of the games, considering people are still willing to pay $40-$50 for a game well over a year after it came out

-or-

b) the fact that great games for the GameCube come out so rarely, that people have to get desperate for something new and purchase older games way after the fact for full price

Double Dash had a bonus disc?

The first print of the game in the US did. I was lucky enough to get one of them myself on my pre-order with VideoGamesPlus.

It's not THAT hard to find (just search eBay for example) but as the price of normal MKDD is still high, this version will be too.

Blame the shops as well as Nintendo. I don't think MKDD have been released as Player's Choice which adds to things. Shops will still sell used copies at $40 and people will still buy them. Same with Paper Mario.

Double Dash had a bonus disc?

The reason I'm looking for it is because Fire Emblem can link with the bonus disk and download exclusive items. I've got a soft spot for unlockable content. It also has the usual game demos too.

Simple - it's still worth that much. :)

Double Dash Bonus Disc Information (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mario_Kart:_Double_Dash%21%21_Bonus_Disc)

I preordered the game and got one myself ;)

That said...give Nintendo a break, would you? If keeping Double Dash at the price of a new game is helping them make money, so be it. I'd rather not see my favorite video game maker go the way of my second favorite video game maker (Sega :( )

That said...look at all the games that are already Player's Choice!

Oh yes, easily still worth that much, and I'm sure it is still selling great at $50, so you have to be a moron to want to lower the game while it's still selling. I'm sure it will get lowered in the next year sometime though?

FE can link with the MK:DD BD for exclusive items? I had no idea about this, which FE is it?

I picked one up with the strategy guide just the other day in a trade. Yes, it has the bonus disc. I didn't think it had been re-released already as a Player's Choice title, though...I figured the re-release was upcoming...

Mario Kart DD: Well worth the cash. Then again, I bought it for $20 off of someone here on DP but I would have gladly paid 50 for it. Ginger and I spend much time playing this.

Super Smash Brothers Melee is still being sold for 30 dollars at places like EB, Wal-Mart, etc. The price has not been raised.

Because Nintendo doesn't want to give my friends and I that last element needed to network 4 gamecubes together for Mario Kart-a 4th copy of Mario Kart that i can afford.

I bought Super Smash Bros. Melee as a Player's Choice or whatever the yellow label at the top is, and I still paid $50... I live in Canada and they dont know how to price games :D

Thats probably the reason. We as Canadians have an unfair advantage when it comes to buying things.

I don't think the game's still worth $50. It's been out for two years, it's a popular title and not hard to find (at least without the bonus disc, but that's beyond the point). Nintendo should have knocked the price down to at least $30 now. I mean, come on.

I got lucky and managed to find a used copy with the bonus disc, complete and in great condition for $20 late last year. :)

I hope they give it a price drop soon. I love the MK series but its not worth 50 dollars for a few hours of single player fun and some multiplayer action a couple times a year.
