I think it sold for upwards of $7000 back in the day (for some very, very strange reason).

They used to have a few at the gym I worked out at as recently as 2001. I tried it out once, realized it was stupid as hell, and went back to the treadmill.

I can see the desire to collect it for novelty value, but my god... think of how many other games you could get for the same price and how many more games you could store in the same amount of space that that thing would be taking up.

That's a damn good price. Paying hundreds and hundreds of dollars for sealed Exertainment games (check the Buying and Selling threads, there are plenty that would and do) as a "collector" WITHOUT having that bike is stupid and overpriced.

Mountain Bike Rally / Speed Racer is the game being played in the pictures by the way. (of which a sealed copy is in the B&S thread right now for $450) (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=72823)

That is exactly what my fat ass needs. That is kinda high from a game collector point of view, but aren't normal excersize machines about that expensive?

I don't see that being too far out of price. How many of these were officially made? Anybody know? It can't be many, plus, I'm sure it retailed for a ridiculous amount when it came out.

I saw this too. It's actually in the next town over from me. If anyone wants it, I can pick it up.

And as a follow up, I just emailed inquiring about negotiable pricing, along with some other questions.

Lifecycle Extertainment system ($750/R7)
And MBR/SR ($150/R8)

A little on the high side, but it looks to be in excellent condition and fully functional to boot. Keeping that in mind, his price isn't entirely outrageous.

$7000

Now we know why these sold so well. LOL

They were probably ment to be purchased by gyms, they still spend around that much for treadmills now.

A friend of mine has one, you can see it in his room of doom pics:

I know he paid a lot for it- more than 1250.
They will become more and more valuable as time goes on.

He's open to offers - who's buying? Seriously, if anyone is willing to come up to MA to get this, I'll buy it and store it for you.

This thing looks pretty cool, and it's probably a good deal for $1250, but I wouldn't pay that much for it personally.

Me neither. It takes up too much precious room. I rather use the room for an arcade cab.

You and your boxes. LOL The only box it ever came in probably was an outer shipping box like any other piece of excercise equipment. While they did show up in gyms and health clubs, I also remember there being an informercial for the Exertainment bike - targeted at the retail market. (was when soloflex was big)

Definitely not worth that much. There was one on ebay awhile back for exactly half that price.

From what I recall, Cannondale Cup was also being developed to be compatible with this system - just figured I'd throw that in the hat. It was a SNES bike racing game by ASC.

Cannondale Cup and Extertainment Mountain Bike Rally are essentially the same game.

I'll ask to see if he sold it off then, maybe it IS the same game. I remember hearing talk of the whole bike game thing, maybe it was an ASC game too ;)

I know it's been a while since last post, but here's a link to a refurbished one. They seem to be readily available, but the exertainment cart is what's rare.
