3 Systems 1) x-box 2) ps2 3) gamecube plus 120 x-box games, the xbox games vary from darkwatch to madden 2005, only about 25 are sports games. Plus I have around 15 ps2 games and 5-7 gamecube games. I know it may be hard to be exact without list of games but can you give me a ballpark figure? thanks.

First of all welcome! :)
Secondly, go here:

http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=66792

specifically:

Staying on topic
Please limit your topics to BUYING, SELLING and TRADING items only. Asking questions of an item's worth, or what is a good price for an item does not really belong here. These types of question should be posted in the Video Game Forum (or Everything eBay if you see it on there), or even go look up the Online Rarity Guide. The only exception to this is an attempt to resolve a deal here (e.g. if people go missing and haven’t been heard from in a while).

It seems that most people are afraid to answer a question of worth. Worth is determined by demand, but you have to know value before you dtermine wether to sell or not. For example, have you seen antique roadshow? The most exciting part is when they tell you how much its worth. Nobody would watch if they didnt. I need to determine worth so I can reasonably conclude a value. That way I can be ready to sell.

Decide the value yourself. Good Luck!

Thats why Im on a video game message board. To ask OTHER people that are knowledgable in gaming to assess a value to what I own. If I was ready to put a value on my own stuff, I wouldn't have asked. Is this rocket science to people?

To play good cop here. Median prices. Will vary depending on condition and completeness.

Used PS2 / Fat - $60ish
Used PS2 / Slim - $70ish
Used Xbox - $70ish
Used Gamecube - $40ish

As far as games go; you're going to need to list them if you want a fair value. Otherwise, expect $1 - $5 a game. If Darkwatch is the newest, that will top out at about $20 used. You can go for there.

If I were to offer you a fair value on all of it blind; I'd say $700 takes it all.

Good luck with your sale.

As philosophyst stated, this thread doesn't really belong in B&S, so I moved it over to VG. Whoosh. Anyways, I'd like to also welcome you here, and although I don't have any information that helps you in your problem here, I would suggest that it'd probably be better to just ignore people who aren't here to say anything constructive. That said, there are plenty of helpful people here, and I'm sure you'll get some kind of useful advice.

Good luck!

Post a picture. That always helps.

And usually you want get as much interest in something when you have little to no background in a given community.

Some guy with a couple posts hasnt established credibility.

IF you are just here to unload some shit then split...yer probably better off just ebaying it or something.

I'm a cheap l'il boy, so perhaps my $0.02 (can I only offer $0.01? it's cheaper that way) may not mean much to ya, but here goes.

Buying in bulk like that, I'd naturally expect an overall discount.

Assuming complete setups, I'd say about $180 for the three consoles. For the 140+ games, I'd go $5 a piece (I know, I know, but that's a lot of games--you ask too much for them as a lot and they're just too expensive to be worth it.)

This brings us to a grand total $880. Mr. Blissfulnoise's $700 seems like a pretty good starting point if you were gonna open it up to bidding.

Even that's a lot of money, but it's pretty fair. In the case of selling things as lots, you'll find that the whole is usually far less than the value of the parts. That's the way it goes though--the seller gets a nice big check and the buyer gets a good deal.

the others may be right in their values but i think 700 is too high

since im guessing here im thinking the games are mostly old and i dont think sports games re-sell to well id say 122 games for avg of 3$ = 366 20 sports games X 50 cents each =10$ so games total 376 and then add in 150 for the consoles. total 526 - id say expect around 550 for the lot -

personaly thats what i would expect to pay for for a lot like that especialy if the games are old also i would have no interest in used sports games so i would consider them free bees no matter what the argument about them is

another thing that would bring the value down for me is titles that i already own - so I as a buyer would also value those titles less.

in summary - i think 700 is alittle high and id expect more like 550 for it - but i have never sold a lot that big nor have i ever payed any attention to curent gen lots like this.

Throw it up on Ebay with a reserve and see how much you can get.

I'll tell you what, I'll give you $100 for the lot.

There you go, that's the value that was established for the lot as you requested based on the very undescriptive information that you provided. Christ, if you're looking for a free estimate at least take the time to list the names of the games

Now, if you're willing the sell it to me then PM me but honestly I won't be holding my breath waiting because I have a feeling that you already have a dollar amount in mind that you want for it that for whatever reason you just won't share with us.

The Way I determine the value of games (to buy) I search each of them on ebay. then I check for the lowest sold point and thats what I start my offers at. At least I used to. The DP guide is Lowball compared to ebay and I always look forward to DP guide based sales. Because I know I'm getting a fair price.

That should help you in determing a price you want to sell the whole lot at. what I would do is get the low price for every item and start the bidding at that price.

your best bet though would be to list them each on ebay to get maxmium moneys. Unless you have something you know is rare and would be a benefit to someone here in terms of collecting.

Don't let the earler posters annoy you. I Lurk the Buying and selling forum ALOT and I can understand getting peeved at something like this. just take it with a grain of salt. Lesson learned. no biggie.

BTW when the DP guide is up. It's very useful in Knowing whats rare and whats not. So I would take the time to check it out once it's up.

Thanks punk girl. I actually have been out of the gaming community for about 1 and a half years. I use to have the big halo get together and my friend has over 1000 classic games. I was looking through my games the other day and realized I'll probably never play them. I had titles I had forgotten that I even bought. I even have some games still in the wrapper. I thought it was time to part with most of them. Thats why I'd ask what they were going for these days. It seems about 700$ is what you'll think. Thats what I was asking so when I put them up for sale, I know what to expect. Not trying to be a snob, I just wantd to kow from the real gamers. Thanks :P

You're better off keeping the stuff. Figure out how much you spent on all of that, then what you could get for it and subtract. You'll be taking a big loss and have none of your games.

Damaramu

That's generally the way to go. You tend to lose too much money if you sell them in lots.

Of course, a lot of the games included in the lot could be stinkers......so you could work around that problem. :D

I would offer $50 ish for a used system (you dont know how used it really is) except the gamecube, id pay $30 max.
They games depends on condition, scratches and whatnot.

Now if you were to say "I have a Virtual Boy with games and a used TG16 stackset" thats different because of the rarity .

But for recent systems i could just chill in front of gamestop and pick those off for a few dollars over the buyback cash price and test them on my car monitor.

Keep in mind the tactics of real auctioneers, if you're trying to go that route. Specifically, don't seperate all the hot items and sell them individually. Hopefully leaving a few gems in with the chaff will give you a better overall price.
