I don't know what it is, must be something in the air this time of year. Both ClubNinja and Scoots posted about their free cabinets recently, so here's my addition to the club.

My brother-in-law's boss said he had a game that used to work but doesn't anymore. The deal started out as I had to pick it up and pay $50. A week later, they said I could have it for free and they would deliver it. Sounded good to me!

The cabinet is from Atari. The artwork is from Black Widow/Gravitar. What's odd is, the artwork is different on each side, and it looks like they originally stuck the artwork on the wrong sides and then stuck new stickers over the other stickers. The 2nd layer of sticker has begun peeling off. I think I could easily have a perfect Black Widow cabinet (don't know who would want one, but still kind of nice).

According to the guy, the game powers up and plays blind. Sounds like a good game to learn about monitors on. I haven't decided what this cabinet's fate will ultimately be, but at that price point it's tough to go wrong.

Not odd at all - most (if not all) Black Widow cabs were Gravitar conversions. Gravitar bombed with the arcade-going masses, so Atari quickly finished up BW to "fix the problem." FWIW, the sideart in the photo is on the correct sides. The right side of your cab has pretty much all the BW art intact. The left side BW art has been torn off in the middle revealing the original Gravitar art. :)

I like both games, so what do I know. LOL

one of my cabinets started off by playing blind.. turned out it was merely a fuse in the monitor had blown
