Hey guys,
I'm new at the scene and I've been having a lot of fun with some Genesis classics and a Nomad I found on Ebay... Problem is, I can't seem to find a good place to shop for games in Los Angeles, California.
The only place that had any kind of variety was a shop called "Games for Less" in Culver City. Besides that, just some dusty thrift stores with crappy sports games ;)
Do any of you guys now some GREAT places to get Genesis games around here? I work in Santa Monica and live close to UCLA.
Thanks a lot
(the website and the forum RULE, by the way)

I used to live in that area a few years back. Try a place called A&J games. It's not too far off of Venice Blvd. IIRC
There was another place (forget the name) nearby that was on Venice that had a decent variety too.

A & J Games has them all loose, though. New ownership too.
I work in Santa Monica as well. Your best bet for Genesis games is Game Dude in the San Fernando Valley. It's on Sherman Way on the corner of Laurel Canyon in North Hollywood. They have TONS of boxed Genesis games. Price list and directions are on www.gamedude.com

Moving this to VG. Hopefully you'll get some more answers with it over here.

That's exactly what I was gonna say. I go there at least once a week. They do have lots of boxed Genesis games and any other games for other systems. The only thing that sucks are those metalic stickers they put on every thing they sell.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions, guys. And the good news is that I just found another store... with HUNDREDS of games.
It's called GamePlay (nice name) and it's located in the crossing between Sepulveda and Venice. I don't remember the number, but if you hang a right on Venice (coming from Sepulveda), it's two blocks away at the other side of the street.
I bought myself a lot of stuff and managed to bring a very old Genesis MK-1601 back to life (I found it for $10 at a Salvation's Army store).
I have to say... playing those game on a tv is SO much better than emulators. Even Kega Fusion, the best ever, doesn't come close to the "feel" of a real genesis. It does have awesome audio, though ;)
That's it. I'm having a blast here. Somehow this feels a lot better than my Xbox.

leglevy, GamePLay has a lot of games, but most of them are sunfaded and pretty beat up. Game Dude is much cleaner....I DID find an NES prototype at that GamePlay, though.

I need to find some more mom and pop places.
I wish we had places that sell Genny games around here. :(
