I don't know much about NES protos, but these are real UV eproms. They look just like all the others i've seen. I don't have a clue how to dump them though. How do you read an eprom?

A battery, some wires, a logic probe, and a whooooole lot of time.

Are there any instructions for this? I really suck with hardware. And where can i get the bits to open up the cart?

Why do i have the feeling this is going to be a lot of work just to find out the eproms are blank?

Fun fact: i don't own an NES. I'm buying one off of another DP'er.

I assume paul's little joke was to ship me a board with some blank UV eproms, get me all excited, then have me put it in my NES to find it's blank. I'm guessing me not having an NES puts a slight damper on these plans... I do have a powerpak, but it's the first gen and i need to send it off to be modded/repaired. If i could dump the eproms with something else, then convert it to a rom, i could try out whatever is on there.

You don't need a replacement connector, just put some butter on the ones you got with a tiny brush. The connection will be perfect - and, if you happen to use them to bake a cake, the dough won't get stuck.

Alright, i got the tool to open the stupid cart. The board inside is cracked in half, it looks a lot like the one in paul's picture, but i can't tell if it's the same one or not. It wouldn't really take much to snap a different cart in half.

The chips inside are in fact UV eproms, but since the board was cracked, i can't do much with them. I'm sending them to a friend to dump for me.

PaulB obviously works for SETA, and they're just really late on getting the preview copies out.

You have to jump on top of the fish/eyeball thing and ride it like a horse. Keep flying up until you reach the 2nd level.

You're just mad because you didn't get the hidden achievements. This ROM requires a phone jack equipped NES or some other method to call in progress.

Ah there we go... I stopped reading about 5 pages in, but looking back I found this:

This thread was fake. He never found a proto, he just faked the whole thing. Many thought it was funny, but I didnt quite see the humor in it. Making many belive that a proto was found, make a fake pic of it being crushed then say its fake.

I really do need to read the entire thread before commenting.
