when i saw the ad on tv, i was thinking "rated m? what, do you have a bomb in the ball or groupsex cheerleaders?".

i think its a nice change from the carbon copy football games of recent. the blood/carnage does look a bit weak for M though.

I hear you can take off your helmet, and beat the shit out of people with it. I also heard that you can get injured, and a player will limp to the sidelines, administer himself a shot, kick his leg out, and walk back onto the field. Drug use always puts games at M.

:duh: Yes, this is true. There are some awsome and violent beatings in this game with added blood and gore to make them even cooler, compared to older Blitz games where about the best you could do was slam the crap out of opponets after tackling them down to the ground. There is also quite a bit of drug use, such as what alm0stfinished stated above me.

There were a number of games before (arcade games that I don't remember the names of) with violence and sports, can't say I remember drug use being a feature of them before, though...

EA fans ( ): What about Mutant League Football?

I believe the Neo Geo also featured an ultra-violent football game, but since this is a Neo Geo game we're talking about, I doubt the ESRB was around to evaluate it when it was released.

There was no "ultra violent" football game on the Geo. Football Fury was just arcade style, nothing special.

I don't know if this counts (since its resemblance to actual football is pretty small), but I believe Brutal Sports Football on Jaguar may hold that honor.

I do not like football games, so even if there was an 'ultra-violent' football game for the Neo Geo, I wouldn't have played it. But I remember seeing a preview of an 'ultra-violent' Neo Geo football game in a magazine.

Mutant League Football is awesome, and is not rated. I love killing the ref.

I think they should make all *TRUELY* realistic baseball games rated M *hands Barry some steroids*

I don't really think it counts, but I think Brutal Sports Football for the Jaguar was an M game.

I don't know about other M-rated or uber violent football games but the reason blitz is M is because it's a satire of the NFL. The sex violence, drugs and profanity are all there in there full glory. Ok maybe not Viking cruise glory, but they're still there.

Hat's off to Midway.

I like how you can send a prostitute/or "girls" to your opponents house the night before the big game, to "take him of his game"...lol... awesome. I picked this up earlier this week, but haven't had a chance to open it yet, but I plan on cracking it open this weekend...
