Take it for what it's worth but if that's the launch line up then i'm gonna be down like $600 dollars.

No Elder Scrolls at launch, well at least Perfect Dark will be there. I hope the Elder Scrolls game does not get pushed back more. :/

Only 20 titles between now and christmas
10 after you subtract the sports nonsense ;)
And only 1 game that I'd really want.
pass
I'll wait 2 years until the library is nice & big with tons of variety - and the price dropped to $200 - then I'll buy it.

Predfect Dark Zero: CE
Project Gotham Racing 3

Thanks for posting this - it confirms that I can squander my cash on other things and *not* worry about buying an XBox 360.

I would have to walk the streets to earn money for that machine. Just think, a game system w/ games = 2 car payments. The screenshots look fantastic, but it's hard to fork over that kinda money honey.

To be fair, this is about as good a launch selection as has ever been done, and it blows the Xbox1 launch away hands down.
Seems like it slacks off a bit after the initial blast, but should satisfy those early purchasers well enough.

Hardly a surprising comment from a user with PSX in their user name.
I don't care for sports titles myself but obviously enough people do to keep EA in business.
Personally I think its a decent list of games to start with.

Watch as Perfect Dark and Kameo get delayed by several months. It wouldn't be Rare if it didn't happen.
Seriously, though, the only Xbox 360 game I am interested in is Too Human, and it is still a year off.

I agree.
I dont recall many system launches having that great of a line up on launch ??
There are plent of games that I will get at launch. I really wish Ghost Recon did not get pushed back , but hopefully this ensures a fantastic game ! :D

I think its a pretty weak launch myself. Sure, there are a couple games there that look promising, but for the most part just nothing I'd be intrested in. And so, my non-intrest of the XBox continues.

The launch list isn't too surprising. Everything I was expecting to come out will be available on day 1. The only surprise I saw was that Gears of War was bumped until March. I knew it was pushed back, but I thought it was only until December or January. I've really been looking forward to that one. Ah well. It'll give my wallet time to recover.
EDIT: Wait... whatever happened to the 360 version of Battlefield 2? Did it not make the cut?

Bzzzz. Nope not a fan boy here. I will say exactly the same thing when PS3 and NinRevolution are released. Watch.

Hey honey! I got the bling-bling if you've got the goods!

It is not to bad but almost all of these games are on other systems. At least the Xbox launch had some exclusives. 360 looks cool but I don't know one person buying the thing @_@

We've had that list posted at our counter for quite awhile, the only thing that worries me is that it hasnt changed much over the past month or two. (Ghost Recon pushed back and Elder Scrolls a couple weeks, with Superman and a couple next year added)
So if its the same in a couple weeks I'l believe everything thats on there.
What sucks is that we still have no idea how many systems we are getting at launch.

Hi let me introduce myself. I'm Jason, better known as Njiska and i'm one of the crazy bastards buying a 360 at launch. Why you ask?
Perfect Dark Zero
Project Gotham Racing 3
Dead or Alive 4
Quake 4
and a better version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour.
So there you go JT now you know someone who's buying one of these "Things" and my exclusive reasons for buying it. :P

That's a pretty solid launch line up. One of the best I've seen in a while.

OH NOES no Elder Scolls at Lauch. OMG what will we do. Get the fuck over it, its coming and it looks good. I think most people can wait a couple weeks for a game. Does it really matter, no one is going to care what the release titles where in 4 weeks.

Good luck cause brother you're gonna need it. With the current rumours about supply you'll be hard pressed to get one at launch and beleive me if you don't pre-order then you don't want to know what you'll have to do to increase your chances. (Hint: You've got to get down on your knees and it ain't gonna be something to tell the grand-kids about.)

I agree. Its just a few weeks :)
But I do have to wait a few months for Ghost Recon :(
Which is ok , because I am sure there will be a few games to suck my soul away until then ;)

I'm just gonna hope the only 24 hour walmart around (frickin all the way in Palmdale, 40 mins away) won't have that large of a line. Plus I can get there pretty early on monday, if need be.
I'll bring the kneepads incase plan A falls through. :eek 2:

Of course with all of the cool DS stuff out now and coming out as well @_@ Gaming bliss !

I'm hoping Ridge Racer 6 still makes launch, although I have a feeling it won't make it.
Beyond that, I'm getting PDZ, and maybe Quake 4.
I think the launch lineup is "meh", it's nearly as horrid as the PS2 or Xbox launches, but not as good as the DC or GBA launches.

Oh come on what's a console launch without Ridge Racer? It'll be there.

Thinking back upon launch lineups of systems past, I would have to say that the Dreamcast and Playstation had some of the best launches I've ever seen in terms of bredth of titles from various genres and so many AAA titles out the gate.
The 360 launch lineup isn't as good as those two, but it should be a little better than the XBOX 1 launch and definitely better than the Cube or PS2 launches.
I truly think that when people get the final version of Kameo in their hands, and they have it hooked up to their large HDTV's at home, with a nice sound system, they will appreciate that this game is Game of the Year 2005 material. Gotham might have the most next level visuals ever. Perfect Dark Zero could have that cartoony, but next level artistic style, and a really cool "mood" to it. Oblivion could have the same impact that Slayer did for the 3DO. (you will only understand that comment if you were a 3DO early adopter and you got Slayer when it first hit for the 3DO)
NBA 2K6 may be a sports game, but the characters in the game look as close to real humans as any game I have ever seen. If you are a fan of the NBA and are familar with any of the players, then it looks absolutely surreal. Madden 360 is a hit or miss, but if it hits, it could be huge for the football nuts out there.
Ridge Racer 6 is completely done, some dude played a 99 percent build. So it's basically in the books. It will be there on day 1. From what I've seen in the newest issue of Play magazine, RR6 is going to be extremely fun.
One thing I'll say about the launch, is that it has certain genres covered, but if you absolute can't stand driving games or FPS games or sports games, then you might find the lineup lacking.
Condemned also looks good, although I must admit that the gameplay seems like it could get monotunous.

Nothing against you guys at all, yes 360 has some killer exclusives and so much more coming down the road. I'll wait till Xbox is finished and pick it up sometime next year.
But for now i'm set with what I have :)

Hey that's nothing against us. Being a gamer is all about preference. Besides a large portion of this board isn't gonna buy any next-gen system at launch.

Looks like a good list. I'm bummed that Oblivion won't be on the list, though...but I'll definitely be picking up:
Perfect Dark (Collector's Edition)
Kameo
Project Gotham Racing 3
DOA4
And the 360 Madden looks pretty damn good, too. Sounds like they've improved on it a lot in recent months.

What a horrible, horrible launch line up. Perfect Dark Zero is the only true exclusive worth getting (with PC ports and all) and even that is supposed to be a toss up.
And for $400? Yeah, no thanks Microsoft.
How the hell can you honestly say that's a horrible launch lineup? There may not be many games that you're interested in but the bottom line is if you look at what's there and you look at what's going to sell, that's one hell of a line up.

What a horrible, horrible launch line up.
I can think of a few launch line-up's that were allot worse. DS & N64 come to mind. Compared to what games those systems had available at launch, the 360's line-up looks pretty choice.

10-29-2005, 05:39 PM
I forgot about Dead or Alive 4, so I edited that post.
Either way I played Kameo and that left me disappointed byond belief. And why would I care what sells? I'd much rather have a few good games then a dozen crap ass EA titles floating about.
There's been worse launches, sure, but I would have bashed those too. This lineup just screams mainstream.

10-29-2005, 05:47 PM
you guys are crazy. first off I think that's a so so launch lineup but not terrible. still even if it was an amazing launch lineup many of you are going to spend over $500 at launch and you're only going to get like two or three games. imagine how many great games you haven't played yet that you could get with $500.
i'll be waiting untill they stop support for the current generation untill I move on

Maybe it's a good way to alleviate the shortage at launch, for those who think MS is creating fake shortage, some major Best Buy stores are getting only 60, compared to 100+ Xbox, if you really want one and dont want to pay $2000 for Omega bundles, wait in line at Walmart or Best Buy.
ianoid
11-01-2005, 12:13 PM
Yeah, you guys should save your $400 and spend $400 in six months, when $400 is worth $395 in todays dollars. Go buy a Big Mac with that $5 in savings instead.
If these release lineup threads are as boring as I think they are, why do I always read them?
What is the release date for Xbox back compatibility?
