EDGE Magazine Appreciation Thread

Just picked up the latest issue of Edge Magazine. What a cover! I have loved this mag from issue one but I find myself blown away by the layout/design and the intelligently written (and mature) articles. Simply amazing.

As a bonus you get a Tokyo Game Show DVD (2 hours!) with this issue. Can't wait to get home and watch it tonight!!!

It's good to see an intelligent mag, but Edge have always walked the pretentious line pretty closely and can take themselves a bit seriously. These days it's just a pale shadow of the mag it was a few years ago too.
Still, their reviews are usually pretty spot-on, and it's always good to find a mag that doesn't believe that 7/10 or 70% represents an "average" score.

Oh, and some of the covers are simply beautiful - my a couple of my favourites were the "Bored to death of videogames?" issue and the Unity cover.

This month's cover is mindblowingly nice. So simple yet so cool. And yes, could be framed.

I need to get a hold of that mag-- it's a bit expensive here in the states.

I think the best we have might be Play or Game Informer, but I don't like either of them all that much. We could use one that takes it's self way too seriously.

Price here in Great Britain is £4, which is sort of high but then again the quality of the magazine itself is a whole lot higher than most mags.
