i'd say they belong to a pay-per-play version of the playstation system... made for hotels or planes maybe... i think that they would cut out after a certain amount of time

I've seen TVs with integrated Pay-to-Play PlayStation units in England; can't say I've seen them in the states (here I've found SNES and N64 versions). I've got a flyer somewhere from one of those hotels...

Yeah they worked with tv's (samsung i think) that had a Built-In system for purchase the use of a game for 6.99 an hour. Had one of those in Utah.

If your really cool you'll find a phone cord coupler and a playstation cord and make an adapter.

It would most likely be for one of those Hotel Playstations. I've not personally seen em, but thats about all I can think of that they'd be good for. What does the bottom of the controller say?

These would have had a short window with no analog sticks. They would have been able to control games ok, but alot of the stuff released after 98 would be alot harder to play.

Thats exactly what i thought these controllers were, hotel pay per play controllers. I have been to hotels with pay per play Playstations and N64s. I wonder who and why sold these controllers to the store. Maybe these controllers are rare.

Again, I have.

I think the TVs - yes, it's an all-in-one interactive TV thing - were made by Philips.

On the scale of things, yes, they're rare. Whoever stole them from the hotel probably ended up having to pay a $20 (or so) fee for them, however.

Personally, I'd like to get my hands on the main unit controls the SNES Hotel system, along with a controller and terminal/TV/whatever's required. I'm not a big fan of charging expenses to my room, so I've never actually played games using any of these (SNES, N64, or PlayStation).

they had 4-5 more of them in a box...should I buy them? Are they at all a collectible? Since without a hotel unit it's pretty much useless....

or if anyone was interested I could make a deal on these controllers and pick them up a pair.

How much? In any case, yeah, they're somewhat collectable, and you're sure to get a laugh if you plug one into a phone jack and put a quizzical expression on your face when you raise the grips to your ear and mouth LOL

Take the price of a *new* (since these seem to be) original PSX controller and add or subtract a dollar, that's what I'd do...that said, I wouldn't sell these right away. They're just controllers, how much space could they take up?

For $2 they are way worth it. I'd try tossing one an ebay and seeing how much you get.

It's possible somebody would notice these are potentially stolen, and eBay could pull the auction...
