What game screams "I am the 80s" to you? Let's hear 'em, and WHY!

Probably Pac-Man just because it was one of the main symbols of the Video Game revolution. Donkey Kong and Galaga would come in a close second and third.

Nothing says 80's to me more then Bard's Tale.. For the most part when I think of pacman or centepede i think of the 70's for some reason..

My vote goes to Break Dance by Epyx (C64).

Of course, Pac-Man is up there too..

Yep.. for the 80's and as far as what typifies gaming then.. it's gotta be Pacman:

GORF! It's part Space Invaders, part Galaxian, part original, and has bad 80's synthesized speech. What more could you ask for?!!

How about Rubik's Cube for the 2600? An 80's game simulating an 80's game. Can't get more 80's than that!

I would actually say Ms. Pac Man. Ms. Pac man was more popular than pac man. I believe Ms. Pacman and Galaga are the highest earning or most produced arcade games of all time. I read that in KLOV.com i think.

California Games - hacky sack is definitely an 80's phenomenon

So did Pole Position, Pac Man, and Dragon Lair. But I would have to go with Pac Man as the most recognizeable and most iconic game of the 80's

Too bad no one did a Lava Lamp program for 2600. ;)

???

Pac-Man? Yes. Break dancing? Yes. Rubik's Cube? Yes.

But hacky sack? I dunno, that doesn't really SCREAM "80s" to me. I need more convincing. Maybe Michael Jackson hacky sacking with one beaded boot while wearing a Sergeant Pepper's uniform.

Well, sure, but those things are more 70s than 80s, and in fact go back well into the 60s (I think it was invented in 1964, IIRC).

You couldn't do anything so organic looking with the pixellated view, but you could probably make something like a lava lamp display...

Another vote for Journey Escape!

Runner-ups --> Centipede, Missle Command, Frogger, Galaga, Ms. Pac Man
