Found a system today called the Socrates Learning System (or something to that effect.) Never heard of the thing before...it's at this pawnshop, complete in the box for $30 and I think it comes with 3 games. Just curious what people's opinions are of it, as a game system and as a collector's item.

I have one..There was an old topic here about it awhile ago.

I paid $3.00 for it complete(no box) with carts at a flea market.
My 4 yr old Son plays it once in a blue.

IMO $30.00 is a bit high..

I bought it for my Son and also as a game system- collector's item.

I got one of these at a yard sale for $2, I think. I don't believe it had any games or hookups though. Check eBay for a better deal, as $30 is high for this system, even given its rarity...reason is nobody wants it. It's a kiddies' edusystem. Go with a Pico if you must get edumacated.

Assuming this is the system that had a detachable IR membrane keyboard, I remember hearing a rumor when it was first released that it was internally compatible with the TI-99 4/A. Can anyone shed some light on this rumor?

So-Crates? Didn't they talk about him in history class?

"Who is the smartest person in all of greece," Plato asks. "Why socrates is of course." "But he said that he knows nothing. How does that make him smart?" "True, he said he does not know anything but he knows he knows nothing. That makes him smart." That is the ture socrates.
