I was selling a bunch of stuff on ebay that were ending tonight, one of the items was an NES toaster. The thing isn't in very good condition and I even explained (or tried to explain) what was wrong with it. I wasn't expecting much from it, but it ended up going for 50 dollars + shipping! I couldn't believe it when I got home tonight. Is the demand for NES's really that high now or are new people just bidding and getting prices up? I would of never thought that I would of made 50 dollars on this.

Ah, yes.. One time, I sold a 40 Gig IBM hard drive for $180. I was completely shocked. It didn't even work right, heh. What happened was just a brliiant stroke of luck, not just some n00bery. Apparently, the two bidders that kept pushing it up, had the exact same model as what I was selling, and both of theirs were broken/malfunctioning. So each guy needed mine for parts to fix his own, and a bidding war erupted. It ended at a little over $180 and I was damn happy, heh. The guy explained why he needed it and paid pretty much immediately, so there were no problems at all. I wasn't expecting to get much more than $20-40 for it, but hey. That's eBay.

I see things like this every now and then. How many times have you seen a copy of SMB3 go for $15+ These are mostly caused by IMPATIENT newbies who need the game NOW !!!

I made 75 cents by selling my toenail clippings on eBay. That place is loaded with crazy people.

Yeah, I sold a loose, yellowed white Saturn on ebay a while back. I had bought in a bundle for $200, because it came with a load of games includin X-Men vs. SF and Metal Slug, both of which I wanted.

I was expecting to get about £50 ($80) or so for the Saturn, as that was about the going rate at the time.

It sold for £250 ($400!!) I was convinced I would never see the money, but the guy paid pretty much straight away ..

The only possible explanation I can think of was that an issue of Edge Retro featuring the Saturn came out during the auction.

It was quite amusing shortly thereafter, seeing loads of white Saturns suddenly appearing on Ebay with £200 or £250 BINs!
