How to play Tac Scan?

How do I line up my squad with the new ship that appears to let it join my squad? It never joins my squadron no matter how I try and line them up. There are no onscreen directions or attract mode where it shows the proper way to do this.

That's strange.. when you lose a ship there should be a marker in it's place. And when the new ship comes down to join you, all you have to do is let it touch that empty marker space and it should automagically join your squadron. You don't really need to "align" it as long as it touches the marker.

Also don't forget that Tac-Scan used a analog ROTARY controller, so if you're playing it in mame, set it to use the mouse which should approximate it ok.. That way you can move as fast or as slow as needed to snake that incoming ship into position :)

Yeah, there's no "trick" to it, that ghost/outline area is where it goes. C'mon Zaxxon! Even the kids in SUPERCADE managed that! :P
