I have this game as a gift, but I'm not sure if I want to open it. Anyone want to vouch for it?

The online portion is pretty fun stuff, much like the PC battlefield games. The system is a little laggy, though I guess it has been getting better as well as the stat tracking being a little flakey. The single person campaign is a little boring, but as with all battlefield games the multiplayer is were its at. If you don't have Live I wouldn't bother.

EDIT: Ignore me. I read the title wrong, that'll teach me to post at 4:00am.

I've been playing it for a few days. The split screen modes are awesome, and the single player is pretty goodl. I haven't gotten into the galatic conquest mode, that seems a bit odd. Overall the game is pretty fun. They've fixed a lot of the bugs from the first one (although it's not perfect), and it's a pretty fun time. I'd give it 8/10.

Take all of the good things about Battlefield 2 on PC and remove them. That's what the console versions are like!

No squads either. I heard there wasnt even commander spots. Just like Halo with tanks and jets and some objectives.

Wrong battle named game. Battlefield not battlefront.

That actually brings up a good point (for me): Which do you feel is a better game? Which is more fun?

I'm looking for a good sandbox battle game for online play. Out of Battlefield 2 Modern Combat and Star Wars Battlefront 2 (both xbox versions), which would you recommend?

If you have a better suggestion, go ahead. No PC games, though.

I've messed around a little with both of them. They're both very well-produced titles for the Xbox, I think it comes down to whether you like the more realistic theme of Battlefield, or the space/star-wars theme of Battlefront. Neither one is bad by any means. It's probably a little easier to get started in Battlefront, and Battlefield is a little bit deeper.

Just don't look at the PC version of Battlefield, or the Xbox version looks like a Colecovision game in comparison.

Heh, it's times like this I'm glad I'm a heavy PC gamer. LOL :D
