Even Though sega.net is gone, can I still go online through Dreamcast?

You should still be able to browse the web with it. As for online games, the US Quake 3 servers are still running and the Euro Phantasy Star Online server is still there. You'll need a PAL copy of PSO tho, and an NTSC-U copy of Q3. There is a few other games, like F355 too.

Oh and there are unofficial PSO servers out there too, but that's open to all the hacks and crazy cheats.
Having never played PSO, I'm seriously considering hunting down a BBA and getting PSOv.2, as it's now possible to have a good game with the few ppl still playing, apparently.

I wish someone would figure out how to emulate the Shenmue Passport Online part of Shenmue (like they have with PSO). I never did get online to try that out before the plug was pulled. :(

i would have thought that the passport was all info on a server though - most of it seemed like it could have been available offline, they just made you pay telephone fees to access it. I thought the ppl who were still playing PSO nowadays are still doing it via the official European servers

This is what gave me the impression that there was PSO server imitation going on out there. It may have something to do with their having been a PSO for PC release. I don't know.

I wish this could be done, too. :( I did try out the Passport but not to it's full ability. What I did try was cool, though. :(
