Just a warning....

Okay. Oh my god, did anyone happen to see last nights Family Guy? When they were making fun of the opening segment from the Naked Gun movies, then all of a sudden they showed a snippet of Stewie running through Doom? Oh my god, I could not stop laughing.

Sorry, it's a little off topic, I just had to see if anyone else thought that was funny.. It was classic video game related! :D

Yeah, that was awesome! I started laughing histerically and my GF came out to see what all the comotion was about. She didn't get it. I think she was still playing Dragon Warrior when Doom fist came out (yeah, she's hardcore like that!)

Wasn't funny but I liked it. Family guy has lots of pop-culture references.

Anyone catch the Stewie as "yoda bouncing off the walls" bit? Now that was funny.

Just caught it now, brought a good laugh out of me...
I thought they did it really well, and if thats the new intro to the show then im happy!

A new scene starting every week with Stewie causing trouble then riding off on his Tricycle! We can only hope!

I missed like the first half of the show. Are they still rerunning Sunday's shows on Cartoon Network later in the week?

I actually wish they'd actually parodied the Police Squad! TV show instead of the movie. Every week, the guest star gets killed in the first 30 seconds. Plus, If I would've heard "....And starring Stewie Griffin as Abraham Lincoln", I probably would've died right there..

But the funniest bit was when he plowed over the 2 girls from The Shining.

I doubt they changed the opening permanently. A few months ago they did an AWESOMELY perfect Law & Order parody opening. They seem to do this once in a while. It's a great change. I hope to see more TV credit parodies in the future.

I also got a kick out of the DOOM part.

I loved how they did it too. After Bin Laden doing his whole bit making the tape and Stewie surprising them all, kicking their asses. Then as he's about to leave, Bin Laden asks who he is and he says as he stands in the doorway/window "I'm Stewie Griff---" and promptly falls out the window as the theme song to Naked Gun starts. I already deleted it from my TiVo, but it was great.

Hahah for sure! They should do new movies each week or even games
Imagine a Resident Evil style one!

I was in stiches when Quagmire fainted from hearing some of Lois' and Peters screams from the bedroom involving Eating Red Carpet... LOL

That was so damn brilliant! They perfectly captured The Naked Gun's intro perfectly.

I laughed my ass off at the DOOM scene and when he ran over Homer Simpson and Peter said "Oh hi Stewie! *looks down* Who the HELL is that?"

Yeah much like that episode of "Treehouse of Horrors" on Simpsons when Homer clones himself with the hamock, and one of the clones is Peter Griffin...

Damn, that was funny. I haven't played Doom in ages so it brought back some good memories 8-).
Other parts from the show that were funny as hell:

"You look me in the eye and tell me thats not just a huge anus."
The whole Osama Bin Laden thing... pure gold.
Quagmeyer passing out and lieing there going "giggity giggit"
LOL

I'm a huge Family guy fan and I've got to say that's one of the best (if not the best) episodes they've had. Only FG can have Bin Ladin talking about nothing for the first 5 mins and make it funny. That part with Doom was awesome! I believe it was Episode 1 - Phobo's Lab wasn't it?

Peter: Ah, What are you doing?!

FCC Agent 1: Censoring Real Life

FCC Agent 2: His chin kind of looks like balls should i censor that too?

It was amazing on jokes but week on story. So damn many references though. Maybe this should be moved to the Off-Topic because there are so damn many thing in the ep worth discussing then just Doom in the opening.

Things like The ---- Van ---- Show staring ---- Van ----.

And Lady Jaye if you missed it The Cobra Commander was the head of the FCC.

actually the simpsons took a shot at family guy on the same night. on the new halloween special they had sunday, at the end credits, when they list all the people with "spooky" names like, james "hell" brooks and matt
"death" groening, they had one guy (i forget his name so i will improvise) as bob "family guy" smith

Episode 1 Stage 5, yup (Ironically the same level shown in the demo each time you start DOOM for the first time)

That level brings back so many early memories of my love affair with DOOM. I would always get killed on that level because I didn't expect all those Imps and Pinky's to seemingly come out of nowhere after I activated a secret switch and they pretty much had me cornered.

"Wait wait hold on let me get these (terrorist gets huge fun sunglass) alright alrigh I wear these okay and they'll be like "why is he wearing those?" then I'll be like "what? what are you talking about, o these? These are my normal sunglasses just normal and everything!"

Haha that was the best family guy episode in a long time.

If they would have put the bottom bar infront of Stewie it would of been better, but it is still one of my favorite jokes in family guy.

Hey here's a cool bit of news. Apparently that was all taken from the SNES version. Guess it's not as shitty as i remember.

"At least they didn't use the horrible Sega 32X version of the game."

That's bullshit, obviously this punk never had it. It was great, but all the enemies faced you and no side frames, so you can tell that Stewie was not playing the 32X verison. Yet damn this jerk for saying that!

Oh and btw, the SNES verison had a frame around it to keep the framerate smooth....so that is not the SNES verison at all. Since the images are a bit too clear, I was just playing DOOM on SNES the other day as well.

Looks more like the Atari Jaguar verison to be honest and can honestly say, whoever the hell thought that was DOOM 64 needs a blast of buckshot in the head with a double barrel.

PSX version? Hell no, Playstation went whacky with the colors by far when it came to the green pools of toxic waste with an errie glow to it.

Simply classic don't you think? After how many years we've been playing DOOM. We can all tell the differences between them all.

Yet the comments on that site is what cracks me up.

Now I KNOW that family guy is the greatest show ever. Also, there was a Simpsons rerun showing at just about an hour before family guy, which featured cameos of Mario and Mr./Mrs. Pac Man! XD

I still don't get why they had to track down an SNES and DOOM to record what they could have done, oh, I don't know, on the computers they use to make the show?

Seriously. Is there any reason they couldn't use the PC version? Even the downloadable demo from id Software could have been done for free.

Weird.

It may, possibly, have something to do with NTSC safe colors.
