We've all played a game that's part of a series and thought, "This part of the saga sucks ass!"

At the same time, we've all played a game that's part of a series and thought, "Hell yeah! The is the defining game of the entire series!"

For some reason, developers that produce gaming sagas come up with a project that's pure genius... then they put together a game that's horribly putrid. It's as if they've turned the series into a roller coaster by putting in high points, and very low points.

I think the Twisted Metal series is great series overall. Twisted Metal 2 is my favorite of all. Everything aspect of the game is excellent.

Twisted Metal 2

The worst would have to be Twisted Metal 3 because of the characters, the graphics, the gameplay, the design, the gameplay, the voice talents, the endings, and the gameplay.

What gaming series have you played, and what are their best and worst games?

I loved the twisted metal series myself and twisted metal 2 was my favorite by far... there was a glitch in the game that allowed you to go outside the rail in Los Angeles... did anyone else have this happen?

You go over the rail on the road and end up in the brown plane which goes on for a while then just stops

I did it twice but never again

Twisted Metal 2 is one of the best games EVER. Especially 2 player coop.

NAAAAAPAAAAAAAAAALM

I would say it's a tie between 3 and 4 for worst of that series. Although I kinda like both of them, they had nowhere near the damage and impact that TM2 had.

I think I'm gonna go play some TM2 today. >)

edit: yea somwhere in the LA level you have to jump off of a placed bomb and you can go over the fence. I've done it a couple times myself, but it's pretty pointless since there's nothing out there.

My favorite series of all time is Castlevania. I have not played a Castlevania game that is 'bad', but the worst game in the series is Castlevania:Bloodlines.

No Belmont in the game, this hurts the overall history of the Castlevania storyline. Nothing makes this game stick out above the others in terms of graphics, story, gameplay, or music/sfx. Nothing. It's definetely not a bad game, but I think the pace of the game is too quick, and again, the characters involved just don't interest me. I care not for some distant 3rd generation cousin of the Belmont clan.

The best Castlevania? Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse. Multiple paths, multiple secondary characters=multiple endings/storylines. Yay! The awesome return to the original in terms of gameplay set a high standard for the series. Plus the storyline was pre-Castlevania 1 on the timeline. That was an indication that this battle between the Belmonts and Dracula had been taking place for many centuries, giving some drama to the series in which TIME and DATE would always be a crucial element in subsequent additions to the series. Excellent game.

Other series best and worst:

Best =Street Fighter 2:Tournament Edition
Worst = Street Fighter 2: EX---get rid of this crap!

Best =Ms.PacMan/Super Pac-Man: I can't distinguish which one I like better, they both have their qualities about them.
Worst= Pac-Mania: This was a tough one, but overall, I never really cared for this game, even though it still plays well and performs good as a pacman game.

Best=Rambo III: I still think this is one of the best games on the Genesis, probably because I like Rambo III the movie so much.
Worst=Rambo(NES) This was always crap. I never knew what was going on in this stupid game. I always got to the same spot, then I couldn't go any further. It's like walking around in circles, and Friday the 13th(NES) had the same problem, you just walk around in circles forever lost in the forest. Stupid stupid stupid.
