Has anyone else ever gotten a Saturn JP import game with a vertical seal instead of a horizontal seal? The pull tab for the cellophane is parallel to the spine card edge instead of being parallel to the lower horizontal edge where it usually is. It looks just like a normal factory seal except for that, so I assume that it's authentic, but I've never come across a game with a seal like this before. So I'm wondering if it's just a fluke or something that they did before they started doing it the usual way. BTW, the game is Nekketsu Oyako, (The Hot-Blooded Family) if that makes any difference at all.

...

I have never seen anything like that before. Keep in mind, that some companies that sells games have machines of their own to seal up the games to make it look like the original factory seal. This includes the little pull string that are located at the bottom horizontally.

The only thing they can't fake is the Y/X folded corners. If you have those, then it's authentic. If the company you bought the item from is very trust worthy, and you know they wouldn't pull off such thing like that, like Playasia, I wouldn't worry. If not, then I would be very suspicious.

I hope this helps you.

but for Nekketsu Oyako?
that's like spending $10 for packaging for $1 game... O_O

Yeah, that's true. But the packaging the topic creator described is suspicious.

You know, it could be a manufacturing screw up where the case entered the machine facing the wrong side when it was going in to get sealed or something. That's the only explaination I can think of.

But, it wouldn't matter anyways if you plan on opening it to play it.

Well, something else interesting about this game. When I opened it, the spine card was glued to the case at each of the four corners. Very strange. Alot of the strategy games are packaged this way, but they're usually only glued to the case in the middle of the front side, not on all four corners.

Anyhow, the disc does seem to be new, and so does the manual. I have bought from this seller before, and nothing was unusual or suspicious about my previous purchases. So I don't know what to think of it. It's just very unusual. I probably shouldn't have opened it, but I couldn't wait to play it!

Hi there,

I know the feeling of not knowing whether the new game you just bought was truely "new" ;)

However, I can confirm this method of factory seal being used on at least two JP Saturn games (Real Bout: Fatal Fury Special and Popoitto Hebereke) I might of gotten one more but can't remember for sure.

I did think it was unusual myself, but it is hard to duplicate factory sealed cellophane.

Hope that puts you mind to rest. :)
