Import game and import item are two different things. ;) Although the topic post in that thread doesn't specifically say that it MUST be a game, that's the way it's been going for the most part. I think it would be pretty interesting to have a topic for non-game imports (that are still related to games), but I question if there are very many people here into importing soundtracks, guide books, manga, art books, and all that other kind of crap. :P

Depends if I'm getting reamed on shipping or not. Anyway, I have a nice shiny complete VirtualOn Twinstick (Saturn) on the way. :D

EDIT: Oh, almost forgot, in before lock. LOL

If I did what this topic says, I'd be posting here at least once a week! But I think it would be cool to see what kind of non-gaming related items other people are importing.

I've been thinking about starting a maneki neko collection recently, and I've had my eyes on a few noh masks too. So it would be cool if I had a place to show them off here.

Ah I've been snagging noh masks, antique ink paintings / vintage scrolls, buddah statues, etc as well... kinda been fed by all the samurai / ninja movies and tv-series from the 80s-present that I've been buyin up and watching lately... right now alternating between "The Yagyu Conspiracy" and NHK's Taiga drama "Musashi"... however still have a pile of stuff I haven't even touched yet.

Eventually I'd like to get a really nice sword with a vertical stand and a full set of armor... but that stuff is pretty darn pricey. @_@

As for me, I think I'll stick to posting here when I buy imports and when they finally arrive in my hands... Speaking of which...

Got these beauties in the mail today. Can't wait to play them, either... The four games are Tenchi Souzou (AKA Terranigma), F-Zero, Super Street Fighter II, and Drift King Shutokou Battle 2. And all for a measly $12 shipped.

Good luck on the armor! Just a helmet is pricey as hell! WAY too expensive for me! @_@

I think I'll stick to more affordable items for now, like the Hiroshige wood block art book that I got yesterday. "One Hundred Views of Edo" only $14.98 at Barnes & Noble.

Now all I need is a Hokusai wood block art book to go with it, but the best one they have is $59.85 at Amazon, so I guess I'm gonna have to use some Xmas money to get it.

Great stuff. The PC-E NG is pretty great, especially soundtrack-wise.

For my part, I just got a few items yesterday, which means I'll probably have to part with one of my extra copies of Dracula X... LOL

Just recently traded for a cart-only Dragon Quest V (Super Famicom) and a sealed Asian version Radiata Stories (PS2). Also, I may soon be pending in a UK PAL copy of Shenmue II (Dreamcast). I have a third trade involving several imports, as well, but I don't recall all that was there...

ok this is not game related at all but...

I present you the HY2M 1/24 scale RX-78-2... biggrin.gif

ok... it's missing few pieces as I've taken 'em off to put this bad boy into the coffin right after this photo and put into the storage room... missus won't have any other way sad.gif

giant gundam (http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/4325/p10508652qm.jpg)

It's fully articulated Gundam model at 79 cm tall and unlike smaller Jumbo Grade this one can move pretty anything that can move inc. limbs/fingers/etc. I've been searching for one eons and when I was asked to buy it for such a low price I couldn't refuse - even though I know I will be copping heaps from missus... tongue.gif

p.s. in case you are wondering that's my kid standing next to it and she's about 86 cm tall...

if you are wondering what the heck is HY2M try google it... it's one of Bandai's giant toy/model lineups.. the biggest being 1/12 scale Zaku II

Ah cool! As collecting japanese toys is my main hobby... I can definitely appreciate a Hyper Hybrid model! I've got 2 myself, one to keep MIB and one to "play" with. How much was the "low" price you got yours for? I got my pair when they first came out and they weren't cheap. Roughly $600+ a pop shipped depending on who you imported from.

I'd really love to get those 1/12 scale figures, but shipping is horrendous on one of those as well as the 1000+ price tag a piece!

I got mine for $199 plus shipping (about $110 EMS from Japan to Down Under) It was missing the original box but at that price who cares! :D

I also collect Bandai's Soul of Chogokin series and one stage had entire Mazinger/Great Mazinger series though since then gave them away as present to relatives and now have OVA Mazinger Z, Minerva, Aphrodite... Plus the Hover Pilder though yet to find the matching Mazinger Z Head for low price...

That's a very good deal. I would have bit as well. As for the $300+ discount for no box, as crazy as it sounds I can totally understand that. In the crazy world of toy collecting, the box is a majority of the value. Loose figures go for half or less the max value.

Yeah SOCs are pretty nice, however my only gripe is the size. I collect them, but I wish they were a lot bigger. My favorite in the series is the Dancouger. A "combiner" type with a very good size and points of articulation.

If you're into Mazinger, Mazinga, Grendizer, etc... check out the Daigokin line. Very nice.... There's also a line that sells some very high quality 5 ft tall figures. One day when I get a big enough place.... LOL

heard the rumour that next Bandai Perfect Grade would be Mazinger Z at around 180 cm tall! @_@

for HY2M Gundam it doesn't matter to me since when I rebuild our house it will be locked in the wall display cabinet permanently... (according to missus)

Been outta the loop lately on upcoming releases, but if that's true it's about time Bandai paid tribute to a classic. :)

Yes a wall mount display w/ glass casing would be awesome!
