Okay, I'm pretty damn sure there are certain models of the X'Eye that had S-Video on them. I saw one.. last year.. at a flea market. I left it there, trying to debate if it was worth the $60, seeing as there are less good Sega CD games than fingers on a single hand.. but S-Video.. it was tempting. Finally, my friend gave me his X'Eye for my birthday. Alas, no S-Video. So I went back to the flea market. It had been sold.

Was I going crazy? Did I find a mod at a flea market?

Mine does not have S-Video, but it has a connection of the same shape (different pin connections). I think this is the Multi-A/V connection that you also see on the Nomad and at least one of the Genesis models. S-Video like on one end and then Composite Yellow, Red, and White on the other.

At the same time I thought I read another post about an X'eye with S-Vdieo, but I wonder if people are just confusing this other connector with S-Video.

Not of this excludes the possibility that you are going crazy, might neither does it confirm that you are. Continue posting and we'll track your potential condition for you and we'll inform you as soon as we have a positive diagnosis...

Does any Genesis, Sega CD version output S-Video?

Mine doesn't have S-video, either. I've read that it was supposed it have it, but I think that's just someone seeing the Genny connector port (as mentioned above.)

I don't mind myself... my TV is situated in such a way that it's very hard to get to the back of it, so I only have my Dreamcast connected directly to the S-video input on the back. Everything else connects to the composite inputs up front and gets put away when not in use.

It does npt. It's Genny2 style connector port looks kind of like an S-Vid port to the untrained eye though.

They can be fitted with S-Video.

You have owned *FIVE*? How did you manage that? I'd been looking for one for years until I stumbled on one on craigslist.

You are one lucky star, trick.

The X'Eye was known in Japan as the Wondermega 2, a stripped down second version to the the awesome Wondermega. In Japan, the Wondermega 2 (and the original Wondermega for that matter) both have S-Video outputs. For some odd reason, when they brought the WM2/X'Eye here, they removed the S-Video port. It honestly makes no sense to me as to why they did that (supposedly it was for cost-cutting measures, but whatever). Anyways, I have the original Wondermega and S-Video compliments almost every Sega Cd game and Genesis game beautifully...the exception being FMV games, which look even more grainy. I also got my regular Genesis modded for S-Video by D-Lite from this board and he did an awesome job. S-Video is the only way I play my Genesis/SCD games now :)

I'm not sure if it's supposed to, but I plugged an S-Video cable into the back of my X'Eye and it works great. There is no hardware mod, I got it from one of my friends who isn't really into games(He was going to throw it away!).

It is a multi-av port, but I use S-video with it somehow.
