Today I got the regular junkmail and I noticed that in the Walmart ad they dedicated a page to the 360 (wich is not uncommon upon a systems launch) but they had not one thing advertised for the Xbox1 or Gamecube not one game not one new release etc.

All they had was the page on the 360 many advertisements for all the handhelds PSP,the various Gameboys and the Slimline PS2 wich stated underneath "limited quantities" and every game advertised was for the PS2 and 4 PC games THATS IT NOT ONE XBOX 1 GAME OR GAMECUBE GAME IN THE MIX wich is usually 2 or 3 at the very least.

The same went for circuit city and Toys R Us etc and I thought they dropped the Dreamcast quick damn I mean there are still LOTS of ppl that own the Xbox and Gamecube but it seems like the retailers (US anyway) are acting like the only current gen system that still exists is the PS2 I think that blows chunks for the owners of said systems.

Dont get me wrong Im sure they will advertise the release of Zelda for Gamecube whenever the hell that happens but damn I mean there are STILL games coming out for these other systems not JUST THE PS2, its bullshit that they dont show that these other systems still have games being released for them even if it is in much smaller numbers when compared to the Playstation 2.

Dont get me wrong Im not very surprised but I still think its bullshit and unbalanced advertising

Since when does advertising have to be "fair and balanced?"

It's an anti-Nintendo conspiracy I tells ya.

The store pushes what will sell.

I've seen Cube ads. Yet Mircosoft has been ignoring Xbox 1 for a while now. It's rather depressing now that I think of it. Look at xbox.com, everything is loaded with 360. Yet not a damn trace of Xbox 1 almost!

yeah I know its nothing new really but both the Gamecube and the Xbox1 are still very viable systems that are being completely ignored for the most part with the early release of a next-gen system its just frustrating to see for me is all.

I havent seen any Xbox 360 ads on tv. Maybe they havent come out yet. Or they dont advertise on the stuff I watch.

Oddly enough, there weren't any ads in my newspaper this week trying to sell new Ford cars from 2000. Only 2005 models were listed. It's a conspiracy I tell you.

Who doesn't want everyone to know about their new next gen system especially since it'll be the first and the only for atleast half a year? I'm sure MS pays for these ads. They deff. want to take the PS2 route this year because that one payed of BIG TIME.

The Xbox 360 TV ads are TERRIBLE. There's no way to even tell what they're selling is a game system. It has to be one of the worst gaming ad campaigns I've ever seen. I think gametrailers.com has it and it's called "Jump In."

Amazingly enough, every time I watch TV now, I catch a Gamecube commercial playing. Between those and the GBA and DS, Ninty seems to be dominating the airwaves.

Haven't seen any 360 stuff though.

Turnabout is fair play, those systems did the same to the Dreamcast.

Now that I think about it TRU DAT! LOL

OFF WITH THEIR HEADS FOR WHAT THEY DID TO MY PRECIOUS -runs back into cave grasping old tattered DREAMCAST weilding a well worn copy of SOUL CALIBUR as if triumphant :yipes:

Saw my first commercial for the 360 during "Lost" lastnight... Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough, but I'm not seeing much advertising for any of the next gen stuff....

I agree that there isnt much on TV but I see XBOX360 EVERYWHERE in print seems like Microsoft is spending boatloads on magazine and other print ads.

Also how many others here have seen the sweet fold out ad for Dragon quest 8 for PS2? it was in last months EGM NOW THATS HOW TO ADVERTISE A GAME!

Yeah i effin hate that ...

WHY are they trying to phase out systems people still hold intrest in?

I think for the same reason APPLE is no longer talking about or showing pictures of the regular 5th gen Ipod Photo.. Now all they show on thier website is the Ipod Video.. WTF? People just bought the damn ipod photo!
Now they wanna kill it off to make you spend to get the ipod video... Go look in an apple store. Its sad.

I think MS is trying to do the same thing to the xbox.
